We were traveling some years back and stopped at a Wendy's for lunch. It was 11:30 am, not even the lunch rush hour yet. My wife orders one of their grilled chicken salads. Sorry, we are sold out. What? Yeah, happens every day like this, we were told. We make 7 salads and keep them in the fridge and every day all gone before noon. Would you like something else? Yes, I said, I'd like to speak to the manager...
After speaking with the manager they made my wife a salad, and it was good too. The manager said he would have more than 7 salads pre-made from now on and closely monitor the sale to find that optimum number to have ready. Duh!
I once went to a fast food hamburger place and ordered a burger of course. They said they were out of hamburger patties and asked I wanted a chicken sandwich instead. I told them no that I’d go to KFC and get a burger.
Maybe Tech should invent a sport that nobody else has and compete in that. Their approach to sports makes about that much sense.
Yes, the options are we can do it ourselves and certainly need to do that now that costs cutting is a MUST. Giving those over achievers a cut of less is even more insane than what we are doing now.
FWIW, the only reason we got into the Learfield deal 15 years ago was to pay for the video board we never used appropriately and never seemed to care. Now we have another one like in in the TAC.
The Aramark deal was just plain laziness that never gave our fans anything other than mediocre service AT BEST.
While Aramark isn't great, most of these food providing services for universities aren't all that different in quality. I've been to Wisconsin and Arkansas games that have run out of important food items before halftime.
You know sometimes you can just look at someone and know they’re a nutless go-along coaster. Guice doesn’t have the ‘It’ factor about him to truly drive LA Tech forward and the proof is showing more and more. It goes along with a favorite saying of mine, “who you are speaks so loudly, I can’t hear a word you’re saying.”
Hey now......you're still talking about 2 nice towns in Collin County, one of the wealthiest counties in the United States. Wylie has a population of 50K, and Sachse about 30K. Considering their proximity to some other really nice towns, it certainly beats the hell out of Abilene and really just about anything in Louisiana.
