That was exactly what I accused Holtz of last off season: Being Lazy! Of course, like everything else, he had an answer for that too. But it was mumbo jumbo at its worst. We see the actual results now.

I think we brought in too many transfers (19) this past year. That was too many for one year. Some of them are just terrible (e.g., Chris Fournier, Kelton Collins, etc...). They just didn't have time to jell the way they should. This goes directly to a lack of recruiting. Really no excuse for it since Holtz is in his 9th year.

It’s ironic he was so critical of Dykes stacking up on JUCOs, yet here we are basically doing the same thing almost a DECADE into his tenure.

Oh my...DECADE...sounds like such a long time. Oh wait! It is a long time. A damn long time. A damn long time to suffer this agony.

Especially with two conference championship game appearances in his first four years and zilch in the last five years. Even one CCG appearance since 2016 would be enough for at least a discussion, but as it is there is nothing to discuss.

Forget all of the bowl games, this is a more accurate measure of which direction this program has been going for a long time.

The admin is telling the money guys that we can’t afford to can Holtz. That’s bull scat. Our share of the exit fees should be over $5 million over the next two years.

We would’ve scraped the money together to get into the AAC and we can scrape the money together to can Skip.

I think Skip is a good dude that the game has passed by.

Whenever you’re told we can’t afford to fire Skip, know that is BS.

We can’t afford to keep him.

The only real cost would be the incoming coach's salary. We pay Skippy his salary every year for the next four years, then give the new coach, if he is successful, a big raise with that money.

We should do what they do to tired preachers and make him the HC emeritus.

Anybody that was familiar with Holt’s career knew his time at Tech would end this way. We had evidence based on his last job, South Florida, and their fans tried to warn us.

I knew when we brought in 19 transfers we were in serious trouble.

it is almost like Holtz has an instruction manual for the destruction of a program, and he follows it to the letter everywhere he goes. I find that so strange that other programs were able to tell us exactly how things were going to go and they were right on the money. Everyone ignored it though and watched play out like and old re-run and some how expected the ending to come out different than it did at other programs.

The one thing that sticks in my mind, is how a fan from one of Holtz last stops called the QB situation. IIRC, he said Holtz will pick a QB and stick with him no matter what(rock star) and will not aid in his development in any way. He laid it out like this, Holtz is stubborn and hard headed and will continue to do things his same old way no matter the results and will do the same at the next stop.

What time should we expect the announcement that Holtz is fired? (Sarcasm)

What’s the tone over at BTB, surely everyone now agrees that Holtz must go.

We supposedly have a full time recruiter in the DFW area (HD you know this). There is a ton of talent in this area alone. What do we have to show for it? Do we get maybe 1 recruit from DFW a year?

Nah! some will say that we went 3-8 back in the mid-80's, including a late season loss to I-AA Southwest Missouri State, 13-10. This is just the way it is at Tech. Embrace it!

Re: It's Now The Time to Move Forward

Short of firing Holtz because of our previous AD’s screwing us on the way out with a insanely bad contract renewal…

    What can AD Wood do?

    1. I think he needs to have a press conference after the season and state the expectation of Tech football is competing for championships in C-USA and say this year was completely unacceptable for our university.

    2. He needs to pressure the HC to can his compadre of friends and nepotism assistants. They are clowns and yes men including his own son brought in to appease Holtz. He must bring in real position coaches who actually coach and LET THEM coach. Tell HOLTZ he can collect his crappy HC money from home.

    3. He has to walk back many of Tommy Boy’s awful game day policies. Drop the LTAC minimum on the seats lower to encourage more season ticket holders. Forget the 8 am gates closed tailgating policy for a 7 PM game. Reinstate student tailgating.
