If Napier is heading to UF, then this marks the first time ULALA has had a coach hired away by a P5. Congrats to the Cajuns for this accomplishment.

    Double whammy for Louisiana schools.

First, ULaLa loses a very good coach. It is going to be very difficult for them to replace him with someone who will be as successful as he has been.

Second, LSU really dropped the ball. They fired Orgeron several weeks ago. Orgeron is no doubt the best recruiter of Louisiana out there. Now another great recruiter of talent in the state, appears to be the man at a top 10-15 job and will be able to build a pipeline of Louisiana talent right to Gainesville.

Makes you wonder what the plan is in Baton Rouge?

Maybe they will offer Jimbo, what $13-15 million or more per year?

Also expect Sonny to TCU in a few days.
You could tell Sonny was gone as soon as SMU started losing. He was checked out. There’s always a pattern with Dykes.

Yep, I noted that, but thought it was the Texas Tech job he was after. His pattern is obvious. He checked out and left SMU to hang, just like he did to us. Hello TCU, he will do the same to you a few years from now if the opportunity presents itself.

It'll be after Saturday's games for TCU. I'm sure the announcement will be made late Sunday morning or early afternoon with an introductory press conference on Monday.

The problem for LSU and Florida is the fact Napier plays in the SBC championship game on 12/4. Everything I've ever read or heard about Napier is that he's not going to do anything to distract his team from that game. So they'll both have to wait if they want Napier.

It appears he wants the LSU job. He's the son of a high school football coach, and he and his staff have done a good job of building relationships with the high school coaches in south Louisiana. But again, they'll have to wait.

That is admirable that he doesn't want to distract from his team. Sonny never cared about his team, so the TCU thing is obvious. I do wonder what happened about Texas TECH and whether he still wanted that job or not. Baylor fans will all be happy if Napier goes to LSU and the Aranda rumors stop. I can't imagine why Aranda would ever want to go back to LSU though, but I do know I am biased against them and for Baylor. I guess it will be interesting to see where they all land.

Aranda is being mentioned for the USC job on several of the local DFW and at least one national ESPN show. They are getting really tired of losing all the Cali kids to SEC and BIG X teams and they think he could do that.

I can’t imagine that one either! I guess we will see. There is not enough money in the world to make me live in that crazy state!
