I was hoping they would leave Zappe in the game so he could be the 1st QB ever to pass for more than 6,000 yds in a single season. He only needs 33 more passing yards to get it. But since they are 4 TD's ahead of Appy St with 5 min to go, they've benched Zappe for probably the rest of the game/season. So, his record(s) will have to stay at 5,967 yds and 62 passing TD's for a single season.

Westin Elliott "dropped back" to FCS Merrimack College and finished the year with a QB rating of 141.85. Now, "The Big Cowboy" is off to pursue his dream of playing in the NFL. https://twitter.com/WestinElliott10/...175108/photo/1 https://twitter.com/WestinElliott10/...175108/photo/2 https://merrimackathletics.com/sports/football/stats

Good for him. Westin Elliott apparently had a hell of a year in 2021. He completed 281 of 420 passes (67%) for 2,942 yds, 29 TD's and 16 INT's. All in only 11 games.

    29 TD's?

That's a pretty darn good year in any QB's book. Who knows, with his size (6 '5, 235) and some good coaching, Elliott might actually have a chance at an NFL career just like Boston Scott did. Maybe he just needed to get out from under Skip Holtz. LOL! Unfortunately, Elliott couldn't take a snap at LA Tech without turning the ball over.

FYI.....LA Tech's QB stats were no where close to Westin Elliott's stats in 2021.

Comparatively speaking, Austin Kendall was Tech's leader in passing stats this year, completing 148 of 245 pass attempts (60.4%) for 1,874 yds, 13 TD's and 9 INT's in 7 games.

…AK had no idea that his OLine’s coach was a long gone has been who, at best, cost him a concussion. The used car salesman aka Skip Holtz really put the screws to that young man.

And our supporters can’t wait to give Skip another $3M for doing nothing, pretty much the same thing he did the last year and half he was supposedly coaching.

Everyone agrees he was putting forth his best efforts, and what would reasonably be expected of a head coach, as required by his contract.

Aaron Allen has received an offer from Alcorn State. If he is looking for a place he can start, Alcorn State might be a good fit for him. It's certainly looking like going to an FCS school is going to be his best option. https://twitter.com/IceyAaron/status...556481/photo/1

Agreed. I feel pretty bad for him, because NOBODY could have won with the Oline play he had this year. With just an average line, I believe he could have been really good.

Telegraphing passes the way he does, throwing against that new kid at JSU may prove difficult.

I disagree. The last thing I want to do is criticize a player headed out the door...BUT....Aaron Allen has had many chances at LA Tech to show us what he can do. The fact is, he just didn't develop and grow into the QB job. He still holds the ball far too long, and was a turn over machine the last two seasons, with 8 INT's in 2020, and another 4 INT's in 2021. This, despite very limited playing time, and only 1,200 yds passing combined over 2 seasons. Frankly, FCS sounds like a very good option for him. He's not an FBS QB and should have never been signed by Tech. I wish him the BEST.

I think previous post was referring to Austin, not Aaron

yeah I was talking about Austin. I should have said that for clarification. Allen is way to inconsistent to be a DI QB in every aspect of his game. I do think he will fare better at a lower level school, and I wish him nothing but the best.

Got it. Thanks for the clarification. AK was thrown into an almost impossible situation at a very late date, and IMO performed very well until he got injured. If AK could have participated in spring football practice at Tech with the rest of the players, I believe they all could have performed much better in the fall. That's on Skip Holtz. He went into the summer KNOWING he didn't have an adequate QB, and signed AK at the very last minute. If you guys recall, the very first time AK ever saw the Tech campus was on July 6th. That was an accident waiting to happen.
