    Re: Russia

Putin claims Ukranian forces crossed the border into Russia and attacked Russian units. LOL! Hitler made the same ridiculous claim as an excuse to invade Poland in 1939.

BTW, German forces first crossed the Polish border onto a remote peninsula where about 200 Polish soldiers, armed only with light weapons, rifles, .30-cal machineguns, and light mortars made a heroic stand. This was along the coast of the Baltic Sea and a German cruiser used its big guns in the fight as well. This was the very first attack by the Germans which actually began August 31, the late afternoon before the historic date of September 1, 1939. The Polish soldiers were on general alert but were caught by surprise anyway. They rallied and held on against impossible odds. They would in fact only "lose" the battle and surrender after Poland itself had fallen many weeks later. The German colonel in command was so impressed by these Polish soldiers and their heroic stand that he personally saw to it that they were well treated as POWs.

Anyway, Putin is channeling some of his Hitler tendencies here...

Putin to declare eastern Ukraine independent and then a part of the "Russian community."

    Re: Russia

Some military experts say if Putin orders an all-out invasion with the gloves off, Ukraine will lose 50% of its forces and suffer many 10's-of-thousands casualties just in the first 24 hours. It will be a walk-over, brutal and destructive. After that in the days and weeks that follow, it is feasible for the Russians to hunt down and destroy (i.e. kill) the rest of the Ukranian military inflicting very close to 100% casualties. There are also reports of "Gestapo" like hit squads ordered to assassinate all opposition, including political office holders, journalists, and any others already marked as an enemy of Putin, er, Russia.

    Hmmm...

    Bingo!

Ukraine is where Hunter made his millions pretending to be something he is not, and spent those spoils on whores (not Kamala that I know of) and crack...and where Biden had the guy investigating Hunter fired before sending them the dollars we had already allocated to them. It was Biden's weakness and dementia that caused Russia to believe they could do this, so here we are. I am not caring much about what happens to Ukraine.

In the meantime, we and other nations where civil liberties are supposedly sacrosanct have politicians that are bullying their citizens and becoming more authoritarian by the hour. Canada, Australia and the US are leading the way in this respect.

    From Walt Whitman:

To the States or any one of them, or any city of the States, Resist much, obey little, Once unquestioning obedience, once fully enslaved, Once fully enslaved, no nation, state, city of this earth, ever afterward resumes its liberty.

It's not that I don't care: I have friends in Ukraine. My church has sister churches in Ukraine. I very much care.

At the same time, that doesn't make it the Unites States' problem to solve, especially when a large part of the blame for the situation rests with the US' global meddling.

Our foci should be on 1) reducing American bully hegemony worldwide, 2) the dictatorship to the north, and 3) the emerging dictatorship at home.

That's what I meant. This is not a problem for the United States. I care about the folks caught in the middle of it all (like the ones caught up in the shelling that has been going on for years already from/in the area Russia is now occupying).

    Re: Russia

Well...Mitt Romney was right when he said Russia represents a big threat. To which the moronic obummer replied, "the 1980's want their foreign policy back." Romney right about something???

One of my pastor friends was nearly hit by a shell during the 2014 Revolution. Scary stuff.
