Yes, I know that. But some like the extra daylight, some like it getting dark earlier. Why not split the difference. Like right now, it’s 4:00, not 3:30.

Or is the the other way and it’s 3:00 instead of 3:30? Holy crap! Just pick a time and stay with it.

Yesterday my grandkids got to PLAY, ride their bikes, and have fun after they completed their homework. I say keep it this way forever. No falling back in the Fall.

    Just my not-so-humble opinion.

Gives me more time to mow the grass during the week when I get off of work and don't have a prior commitment which frees up my weekend more -

Hell I had to deal with it growing up, in a community that if you lived less than two miles from the school you were forbidden to ride the school bus - that meant parents took you or you rode the bike with backpack

We can see all the foolishness now - these kids that are now adults didn't have to deal with monkey blood, radiators in the class room, non airconditioned schools, dodgeball, king of the hill, blistering hot 20ft high slides, 1st 2nd and 3rd place ribbons only during field days (your consolation prize was a paper dixie cup of red kool-aid and knock-off chocolate chip cookie) and your only choice in the lunch room was chocolate milk or white milk....

Bunch of damn weenies and pansies
    ''Don't be a bad dagh..."

If you have never played dodgeball with those heavy rubber balls, then you never played dodgeball. These new foam balls they use are worthless. We had PE with 4-6th grade at the same time. We used to get pegged with those red rubber balls by kids 2 years older than us AND WE LOVED IT! What a game!

If you were in a small PE class at say Webster Jr High or Lowe Middle School - it was dodgeball with the smaller red ball up against the gym wall...

Sounds like DfM is describing the GenX experience.

GenXers had it too easy. That's their problem. The "gimme, gimme, gimme" generation.

That isn’t GenX. You are thinking of millennials.

Correct. I think D80 is thinking of Millennials.

For most in GenX there was no such thing as after school care. And the vast majority of our mothers were in the workforce. We basically took care of ourselves for at least a couple of hours in the afternoon. I did starting in the 3rd grade.

When Mom or Dad got home I had to have my homework finished and had to be ready for football or baseball or basketball practice, whatever season we were in. And I learned how to use the big Amana microwave.

Then in the summer going into the 5th grade, with the exception of a couple of weeks in various summer camps, I was home alone during the day. As were my friends. We all learned how to cut the grass and clean up around the house.

    We didn't have it easy.

Hah! set y'all up. Boomers raised Gen Xers. All three of my kids are Gen X, and then we adopted a 1992-born little girl. Boomers keep getting bashed, which is stupid, we were raised by the Greatest Generation and then raised Gen X. By then, here in the US, we had peace and prosperity so Gen Xers grew up in a stable time and, as a generation, didn't have to "want" something. It was there for them. Yes, because Boomers was (is) the WORKING generation, two-income households, our kids were "latch-key." But we were also heavily involved in their lives. I coached all my kids in various sports. That meant putting in a long day at work, then dashing straight to ball practice, then not getting home until after 6:30-7:00, then checking their homework, getting them fed, and finally, around 9PM or so, whew! some personal time to relax.

My wife and I, both proud Boomers, are retired and set for life financially, yet we both still work, at least part-time. I still get a W2! It's who we are...the WORKING generation. Now we are raising two of our grandkids as their parents try to get their lives on a path of dependable financial means. Happy to report they are making strides.

    Carry on...
