Regarding student loan debt, it is way past time that university endowments be taxed at a modest rate (say 5%). This would more than pay off all student loan debt and eliminate the need for future student loan debt.
Universities shouldn't be allowed to accumulate unlimited resources simply to fund their own largesse without doing some real public good.
