Tech’s absence of forward looking leadership by way of Guice has put us a deep dark hole of conference alignment abyss that will take years of Cumbie’s overachieving to get us back on level ground. And that’ll only work if he doesn’t get the rug pulled out from underneath him by more lack of or mindless decision making. Where Tech is now in no man’s land is squarely on Guice not saying anything of substance in our conference conversations. You reap what you sow… and we didn’t.
Definitely feels like no man’s land.
This response is a word salad of hypotheticals. Causes me to still wonder if you always remembered to wear your helmet when you played football. Perhaps you can share with us your expanded knowledge of exactly what Guice has said or not said during conference conversations. Also, I hope that you will flag for us when Cumbie is overachieving in his future endeavors. Most of us mortal Tech fans do not posses the crystal ball that perhaps you have that predicts he will overachieve.

Guice's first major hire of his presidency was the Boy Wonder as AD. Major mistake that set Tech athletics back. Another major mistake that the Boy Wonder wasn't fired after the Summitt scandal when Tech's athletics administration was caught sleeping at the wheel. Looks like Guice was sleeping at the wheel too on that one.
If you think stuff like this doesn't impact relationships needed in conference realignment, you are sadly mistaken. And Guice is following the Reneau pattern of looking at the short-term (crisis management) instead of doing any significant forward thinking. Guice is already approaching the point after 9 years on the job where Tech needs to be looking for a replacement. That should always occur every 10-12 years instead of the 25-year and 26-year terms of Tech's previous two presidents. Reneau in particular overstayed his welcome by more than a decade (just to say he was president for longer than Taylor) to the detriment of Tech athletics. And Tech's next presidential hire really needs to from outside Louisiana.
Presidents who are detriment to athletics? Isn't the mission of universities academics? Thought I read that somewhere...![]()
CUSA went 3-0 against the Belt yesterday, just saying......
"It's Good to be a Bulldog"!!!
Nothing about the conference comparisons interest me. All I want is for Tech to beat the teams they’re supposed to beat and then upset some that they’re supposed to lose to. Do that and everything will be fine in time.
