    Re: Russia

Until Putin is soundly defeated, in Ukraine, and in Russian domestic politics, we need to continue to support the Ukrainians. Period!

Now, because I am an avid viewer of The Sun, I am getting other videos popping up on my YouTube feed, the latest being Warthog Defense. Just watched an interview with a former Russian soldier. Felt bad for the guy. He was a reservist and was told if he would go to the front, he could earn his pension faster. This guy had spent his entire career in supply, no combat experience, and in fact the entire bunch of reservists had been in the rear. He said the first day in Ukraine they were attacked by the Ukrans, and they were Ukrainian regulars, real soldiers who had been engaged in combat for months. We panicked, he said, tried to jump into vehicles to escape. He was on top of a tank that was hit by a mortar round. He was wounded, knocked unconscious, and woke up in a Ukran field hospital. "You are all POWs," he was told.

Warthog Defense also had a video of the aftermath of an ambush of Wagner Mercenaries. The entire group had been killed, about 20 of them. They interviewed a Ukran officer who was asked if there were any wounded/captured mercenaries. The officer sheepishly replied, "No wounded, all killed." The narrator then added, it has been rumored the Ukrans do not take mercenaries prisoner, as they do for Russian soldiers, but execute them on the spot. Then said, the rumors have not been confirmed by an independent source.

Just now, as I was typing this, got two more videos pop up, "Breaking news, explosions rock St. Petersburg..." There have been numerous, unexplained explosions in Russia. A shopping mall in Moscow was rocked by a tremendous explosion which destroyed about half of it...and it was not a small mall. Russian officials have been mum on the causes, but rumors are it is probably domestic "terrorists" protesting Putin, his war, and Russian political leadership.

    Putin is losing.

    Re: Russia

a Russian oil refinery was almost completely destroyed by "suspected sabotage..." Ya think!? Duh! Just the latest in a series of explosions that have rocked Russian infrastructure in ever-increasing attacks. Some western intelligence sources suspect some of the attacks are the direct result of Ukrainian operatives, but those are confined to the border region. The rest of the attacks are thought to be anti-government domestic groups.

Just watched another video of two Russian mobile missile launchers taken out by Ukran troops. They used a javelin anti-tank, hand-held rocket. What is amazing is how/why these Russian missile launchers, which are large, tracked vehicles with a 4-man crew but no self-defense capability, are roaming around without protection. In the video you can see the two missile launchers moving on a road and not a single support vehicle, or ground troops, not even a helicopter flying cover in sight. The Russkies have to be a special kind of stupid to dispatch such vehicles in "enemy territory" without protection. Sitting ducks. And from the video, no crewmen can be seen fleeing the vehicles, which sometimes you can see the Russian soldiers bailing out of a tank or a vehicle after it's been hit but before it erupts in a ball of flame. Not so this time. I assume all 8 were killed.

    Putin is losing.

BTW, there are reports coming out of Belarus that Putin, together with his lone ally, are planning a new invasion into Ukraine directly from Belarus. Polish intelligence sources have identified a build up from satellite images. US officials have refrained from confirming or denying this concern. A British military think tank also expressed some concerns over this, predicting Putin will launch a huge invasion force into Ukraine, from Belarus, by February 2023.

Detractors to these reports say this is all just a scare tactic designed to keep aid and military equipment/supplies flowing into Ukraine.

Speaking of supplies, Morocco just sent ship loads of T-72 tank spare parts to Ukraine in a direct contradiction to the "Arab world's" unwritten rule to remain out of this conflict. Other Arab/Muslim leaders condemned Morocco for getting involved.

    Re: Russia

The elite Russian 200th Motor Rifle Brigade, 3,500 soldiers at full strength, has cease to exist as a separate combat unit. What is left of it was rotated back to its base in Russia, with fewer than 400 soldiers said to be fit for duty. The 200th found itself isolated without proper armor and artillery support when the Ukrans launched their counter-offensive northeast of Karkhiv and was virtually wiped out. At first Putin's propagandists tried to play down its losses, but news of the truth leaked out, and upon their less-than-celebratory return, Putin's media tried to spin it as returning heroes, who stood up to impossible odds in the battle.

Meanwhile, Ukraine has officially confirmed the rumors of the make-over of the former 98th Azoz Battalion, with the addition of another battalion, not of the so-called "Nazi" influence, and redesignated it the 98th Regiment (now with two battalions and set at a strength of 4,200 soldiers). Further, spokesmen for the Ukran government/military stated the rumors of it being "Nazi" was much exaggerated anyway, with the most offending officers, and a few enlisted men, being removed from the 98th.

And, the spokesmen made it point to emphasize that the 98th Azoz Battalion, has been the single best, most successful combat unit defending Ukraine since day one of Putin's invasion. It was the Azoz Battalion which saved that large nuclear power plant, a few months ago, with a selfless/heroic stand against overwhelming odds. And the Azoz was also instrumental in the brutal fighting swirling around Bahmut which allowed countless civilians to escape. Pulled out of that region about a month ago to rest and refit, the move was made to increase it to regimental strength and implement leadership changes.

I KNOW the details of some of the now-former Azoz leadership, but the STUPID propaganda designed to cast it, and thus Ukraine in general, in a negative light was part of Putin's misinformation campaign in hope of discouraging western/NATO support. Fortunately, the Ukrainian military leaders knew the fighting prowess of the 98th Azoz and never interfered with its operations, during the critical early months of the invasion.

Ignorant people need to keep their mouths shut. Innocent people die when morons publicly express their opinions.

    Re: Russia

And, as a BTW, I vehemently disagree with both Tucker Carlson and Laura Inghram's, tiring lamenting about the $billions being sent to Ukraine to fight Putin. STFU! No, I cannot say that every dollar should have been sent or that some tighter accountability is not warranted, but pray tell when has that ever been the case with US foreign aid? I'll wait...

Bottom line is Putin is pure evil and has to be stopped. We can deal with Zelensky et al AFTER the Russkies have been forcibly ejected from Ukraine.

Both Biden and Putin are pieces of shit. But, right now, it's Putin who is killing Ukrainians, including women, children and the elderly who just want to live in peace, hell! just want to live.

Morocco was roundly blasted by other Arab/Muslim nations for sending the spare parts and the Russkies filed a formal protest with the Arab League commission, or whatever they call it. In response Morocco said: you are right, we shouldn't send T-72 spare parts to Ukraine...by themselves. Therefore, we are also donating 30 recently updated T-72s, 18 already on a ship headed that way, and 12 more to be delivered in January. Hah!

The T-72 is a very capable tank, on the offense, but has a fatal defensive flaw...inferior armor to modern armor-piercing rockets. Updating these tanks includes retrofitting blocks of armor to critical parts of the tank. Not perfect, but does increase the survivability.

Applause to Morocco for taking a stand and not being intimidated by the world's bullies.

    Re: Russia

Poland just sent about 100 of their most modern tanks to Ukraine. These tanks are considered among the very best in the world, built in a joint project with Germany. And the Germans know how to build good tanks.

Meanwhile, more sabotage overnight in Russia. Last night another oil storage facility and the pipelines connecting it to the rest of the world were totally destroyed. Massive explosions rocked the complex. Mere minutes before the first explosion someone called the facility and alerted the workers to run for their lives. Apparently, all the workers got out safely, no injuries reported. What is hilarious is how the Putin-controlled media reports these events. One reporterette, a rather attractive blonde, was shown standing near a burning oil & gas plant as fire rose into the sky, and she says something to the effect: this marks the seventh such explosion at an oil and gas facility this month and the government is beginning to think these are not just industrial accidents. Ya think!????

Ya neh govritnuh po Russki. (there is always English translation in the closed captioning for these videos)

    Putin is losing.

More breaking news, just released 20 mins ago:

Major gas pipeline transporting natural gas from Russia into Europe was destroyed in a massive explosion. Of course, the geniuses over there have finally figured out it is sabotage. Happened near a village called Chuvash in western Russia. No reports of injuries.

Update: three people were killed, and a dozen injured, some seriously, when the pipeline erupted in a ball of flame. The pipeline carries natural gas from Siberia to Europe VIA UKRAINE, and that is the rub. Officials of the Russian pipeline company have dismissed claims of sabotage saying the cause has yet to be determined. One report says a crew was making repairs to the pipeline when the explosion happened. But! Russian officials had already released a statement saying it was likely sabotage by some dastardly Ukrainians. The location is in Russia, just across the border with Ukraine.

    Re: Russia

Russian ammo depot was destroyed in Belarus, in a combined Ukrainian special forces and Belarus FREEDOM FIGHTERS attack. This marks the first time the war has manifested in Belarus proper.

Belarus is a puppet state of Putin's commie Russia and have stood with Putin in all his imperialistic ventures, especially the invasion of Ukraine. In the early weeks of the war Belarus was actively involved with their own troops on the ground in Ukraine. But when things turned sour for the Russkis and they started losing, Belarus withdrew all their units back across the border, and since then have offered only logistical support to Putin's units. Recently, in a show of support, Belarus moved a division of troops close to the border and made some threats of invading (again). But they withdrew. Now, the anti-commie resistance has emerged in Belarus.

The attack on the ammo depot was near a Belarus village. No reports of injuries (yet).
