It’s great that the 65 students who remain at the end of the 4th quarter, including the band, have some semblance of a tradition I guess. It’s just silly to me.

We were 0 for our last 18 or 19 when trailing at half...
So the fact that they won was a very good thing
This team really hasn't WON in over 4 years -
Maybe they learned something tonight

I guess I just blocked it out when I was there 2000-2005. And every year since then until I noticed it during the Dykes years maybe. Maybe I noticed because we had students in the stands at the end of the game. Not doubting you guys that it was already a thing, I am 41 and starting to forget stuff that isn’t important while also complaining about it.
One of the positive things I saw, was the new DC adjust and beat the s""t out of FIU's offensive scheme after the the atrocious first Qtr...for the entire rest of the game. Offense was called badly, but other than Smoke and the TE's, I really didn't see anything HB could throw to. FIU was cover the pass first and not sure our new offense crew knew what to do, so that's why Smoke became the target. (SMU will definitely make him the target).
Special teams are improving. Buchanan is much improved. Did they ever get yards on a touch back? And yes I know Barnes had a tough game, but if you watch back closely, I honestly think the issue is the snapper and the holder. On the one that would have put us ahead in the replay, I watched and thought Oof, if the holder had held the ball correctly, he wouldn't have shanked it that much. I've seen Barnes hit the side iron and hit it in a couple of times, and I think honestly the holder has at least a little to do with ball placement.
I wasn't excited except for the D which reacted quickly, and I admit I had to be at work Sunday and couldn't handle the miss by Barnes so I went to bed. Under Holtz I went to bed knowing we would lose a close game, even with a lead. This weekend I was surprised we won. PS, I'm on EST so late games suck, just like they did while we were in the WAC. I just have weekend schedules now. Long story.

Yes!
That's what I posted Sunday morning after watching the DVR replay . . . without knowledge of the score.
I thought I was watching former WM coach Jerry Arledge, the master of 1st quarter adjustments.
One question, since my internet surfing was limited this weekend.
On the Tech jersey nameplates:
(1) Are they on a slow boat from China?
(2) Coach making them "earn" them?
(3) A new uniform statement on cost-cutting?
(4) Sewing machine (or operator) broken down?
Just curious.

If you watch the replay the holder (who I assume is new) caught the ball at an angle and on placement held it on a slight left angle. The ball was hit hard enough, but shanked way left. I'll see if I can find it on YouTube. No clue how to isolate it, but will try and find the slo mo they created.
I thought Hank played well after a slow start. He makes quick decisions. He has the demeanor of a winner. As for throwing downfield, he didn’t have much time.
Is there an injury report out, or is that not done anymore?

Sorry, just watched it again. Hold was OK. It must have been another hold. I will stand corrected on that one.
Saw his stats at Boazy last year, something like 54% completion rate. That is horrible. Good college QBs complete 70% of their passes. He dosen't have an arm either. But then there are a lot of Hall of Fame QBs with weaker arms, Drew Brees among them. So, it shouldn't matter in the right offensive scheme. But PLEASE throw downfield more. I am longing for the day I see the old patented Tech aerial assault with 15-20 yard crossing patterns, and the occasional bomb!
