If nobody who is getting paid to care about Tech Football (President, AD, HC, Assistant Coaches, Athletic Department) cares about Tech Football, why should we?
I can’t tell that AD Wood is doing anything.
If Cumbie is truly a decent human being he should quit or at least give back his paycheck, because he sure doesn’t deserve it.
At least Brevin Randle is back from his indefinite suspension -- he came close to getting thrown out of the game for targeting, buy hey he's back. (I'm being sarcastic of course). Before the game started, I told my wife I'd be watching Tech lose another game. It's sad to see how far the program has fallen.

It's a done deal now, Crummy will be the third coach in the 120-year history of Tech football to start his, ahem, "career" with back-to-back losing seasons. Congrats on this rare achievement!
For the record there are about half-dozen coaches who had losing first seasons, but they only had that one season. Larry Beightol, 1979, and Carl Torbush, 1987 the most recent. But to add a second losing season, wow! just three coaches.
Now, with the empty suits in charge, I'm betting Crummy will set the all-time record with a third losing season next year. Should be a lock for the Tech Hall of Fame.
That’s what I thought. On the drive before we should have kept running instead of a sack/ fumble. We had plenty of time and 3 TOs. No point in giving them the ball back.

I don’t know about the rest of you but I have become disgusted with Tech Football. I try my best to stay informed about the best HS players in the state of La. I can’t keep tabs on those from TX. But the last couple of recruiting classes I haven’t seen any names that drew my attention. With that said to be a strong football program you must have good players. Tech doesn’t have good football players. We have some that were above average in high school. That may have been ok in the early 1980’s but not now. As we play other teams I hear the announcer stating that the other team has gotten many players from the portal from schools that are good P5 programs. We are failing miserably in HS recruiting and taking advantage of the portal. I believe it is time that the new president of Tech and our below average AD had a come to Jesus conversation about the improvement of our team. Maybe a new contract of one year contracts to fill in the remaining 2 years of the original contract. I know they won’t fire Cumbie this year because that would send a signal to any coaching prospects that the administration won’t support the current coach. However there should be a hot plate underneath his office chair to remind him that we won’t tolerate 3 win seasons nor the extra low attendance as well as very low $$ contributions due to poor performances! Sorry for the long rant!! I miss the effort and attitude of the JRP days and the creative explosive plays from the Rattay/Edwards years!!

They just can’t get out of their own way. Last night we couldn’t protect the QB, and the QB couldn’t secure the ball. That results in two fumbles lost, one of which gives NMSU a TD.
Our next loss may cause them to quit.
The only player with any attitude on this whole Tech team belongs to #6 Randle and he got in trouble for it. Our offensive lineman don’t block with aggression and our defensive lineman don’t do much to defeat being blocked. I’d even say they accept being held and don’t do anything to make a spectacle of it. Tech’s entire program has taken on some sort of softy mentality and I think that stems from being treated like children during their practices. It feels like our coaches coach like they’re afraid to hurt the players’ feelings. When I see a receiver not run his whole route and smile about it or a running back who doesn’t deliver the hit to the tackler or a linebacker who doesn’t even try to square up a QB running the ball it tells me that the coaches are soft on this team and aren’t coaching them up to play the game like men. Besides all of that Cumbie simply isn’t head coach caliber. He was good as an offensive coordinator under leadership type coaches but he’s definitely not a leadership type coach himself and I don’t see him getting there. A 3-6 repeat season seems a lock at this point and if we had to play 2 of our wins over again I think we’d lose them.
SHSU 34 UTEP 37 wow, so close to their first win last night. Entertaining game, I actually watched a good bit of it.
SHSU is 0-8 and host lowly Kennesaw State next, then play at equally lowly Tech after that. Close with games vs. WKU and MTSU, so they will win at least one, and probably two.
Jax State smashed FIU 41-16. They are not eligible to play in the CUSA championship game, which is stupid, so the CG is likely to be Liberty vs. New Mexico State. Gawd, CUSA sucks!
This is how bad it has gotten. I knew the game was on, but I chose to watch some of the NLCS and then Netflix. Why watch when you already know what the outcome will be?
OK you stated your opinion. So with that, everyone has an opinion. What is the solution? I love Louisiana Tech more than most on this board. Alot of gripping, but no suggestions. It takes $$. How do we do that? Not enough Karl Malones, Terry Bradshaws, Davidson families and Argent. Charging an Athlete fee to students? I wished I personally had more to contribute. We as a total Athletic Department are not performing very well. Exception being Bowling, Golf, baseball. In addition, as soon as we do well, we lose the coach and now with the transfer portal, we lose players. Solutions from these vast range of knowledge. Please.
Solutions have been proposed on this very board which, while they may not have fixed all our issues, would have certainly been an effort to retrieve that which was taken from us.
I loved Louisiana Tech also. But she was murdered.
