Well, the relationship sucks. So if he can actually make a difference, I’ll take it.
I saw where they're advertising for applications at GSU.
I swear the DOTD head who lost his bid to be governor was going to be pigeon-holed into the GSU spot during this John Bel Edwards era.
Wilson's got a Ph.D., not a Ed.D.

This new president is the only potentially good thing lined up to take place that has any chance to salvage the Tech athletic program. If Guice was to remain in charge we could all just pinch our collective noses for the putrid stink that was to become Tech sports. Where Reneau gets credit for exterminating the Lady Techsters, Guice gets credit for burying the football Bulldogs. Now we’ll just have to sit back and see if Henderson’s leadership and decision making can dig them out.
I think Wood and Cumbie should both be terminated asap in 2024. They’ve both proven without a doubt that they don’t have the characters or skills to do their jobs.
It’s time to get behind Henderson and at least hope he’ll be serious about doing his job in an overachieving way… unlike all of Tech’s underperforming coaches.
Beck and B.C. interviewed Dr Henderson tonight. See link below. Being an FJ Taylor era alum, Dr Henderson kinda sounded like FJ.![]()
He also said his father played for Coach Joe Aillet back in the day. I'm as optimistic as can be in the era of NIL and Portal.

I listened and thought Henderson sounded way too supportive of Wood considering the current state of things and since Wood hasn’t really done anything of note or value regarding any of the fan experience problems at Tech which you’d think should be easy enough to improve.
It feels like and wouldn’t surprise me that both Wood and Cumbie are going to get 1 more year to go all in and improve what they’re responsible for. In Wood’s case it’s doable. In Cumbie’s case I don’t see.
I agree with you that he's too supportive of Wood. Although Wood did powerwash the stadium....Tech sports are declining big time in the last few years and that falls on the AD's shoulder. Period.
And I agree with on Cumbie. He does not deserve another year; I'm sure he's a good man, good family man, but he is not a D1 head coach.
Historically it looks like Cumbie can call plays for an offense that someone else built, conditioned, disciplined and in the situation the head coach calls for, but that’s the extent of it. All the other stuff that makes up being a competent head coach is majorly absent. Having said that I'm holding out that Cumbie goes to every coaching clinic available in the off season to learn what his job is and be coached in how to do it. The same goes for all of his assistants.
