Just the fact they mixed us up shows how irrelevant Tech is.
Good ole John Simon #8. An unsung hero, over-shadowed by Troy Edwards, James Jordan, Sean Cangelosi and all that talent and firepower on that offense, led by Tim Rattay, of course. But Simon was a steady, dependable asset. One game in particular, and I don't remember who we played, Nicholls State? maybe it was, but it was a game we should have cakewalked through, and eventually we did win by 20+ points. But they had a great defensive gameplan, double-teaming Edwards every play, different blitzes that confused and frustrated Rattay and our usually rapid-scoring offense was stymied. And then Rattay about to be sacked, almost for a safety as we were backed up, dumped it off to John Simon and 90 yards later he's in the endzone. We rode Simon to another 1st half TD and in the 2nd half, adjustments made, our offense began to click. But it was #8 who was the spark when nothing else was working.
Would love to see #8's legacy continue in Ruston.
I'm surprised he stayed on at Grambling after the coaching change. I would love to see more legacy coaches on the staff.

Gov-elect Landry is following process and tradition, while the ULS Board tried to steamroll Gallot's appointment through, just like they did Henderson's. Landry says he sees no issues with Gallot being named ULS president but wants to follow procedure and have him appointed, and with a contract, after January 8th. This is all that officially has been said and done.
