I mean, beyond just "fixing" the strips or shoulder numbers or that kind of thing (which would be great).

I'm pretty firmly out on a grey or black option. Don't like that at all (for us). Wouldn't want us messing with the shades of blue (other than the 2 we have, which are awesome) like Oregon or Baylor do. I don't think silver helmets would be good. Maybe a matte red? A blue helmet option? A "piney hills" pattern? Old school bulldog with a beanie on the shoulder (like oregon's cartoon duck)? What else could there be? Camo?

There is a really old Tech logo that you can see in the old lagniappes that I don't totally hate (it's WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than the La-State-T-ECH "sports" logo). It's kind of an oval with "La Tech" where the bottom of the "L" and the top of the "T" stretch around. If Homefield would ever pick us up, I'd totally be interested in a throwback that used that. But I don't think I'd want it on our jerseys or helmets. It's not as good as the (classic) State-T. But if you just had to have something, this has history behind it.

What is wrong with the stripes?

I prefer when the shoulder strips go all the way around.

Looks like we tried out adidas Primeknit (stretchy unibody construction) jersey. It was the high end jersey (at the time) that they reduce the amount of seams. Because of the cut to jersey, there were no collar seam for shoulder stripes. Our equipment crew had to be creative and they put stripe patches and press-on letters which made it look janky. The bigger schools who wore the Primeknit jersey, they screen-print their numbers and embellishments making it look a lot cleaner.

We switched to adidas' Rib Stripe jersey. On a blue jersey we went with the 5 stripe scheme (W-B-R-B-W) than the 3 stripe on the old Nikes. This style of jersey is cut for shoulder stripes (you can see the seams where the stripes start).

The old Nike seams has a lower collar seam, the stripes starts closer to the pits.

If you guys are board, there is an adidas uniform builder. You can load up Tech's uniform style and play around with the colors and scheme.

I also think in general we have too many alternate uniforms. We need to get back to the red helmets and blue jerseys being the standard for most of our games. Red jerseys for red out.

I dont mind an alternate uniform now and again, it can be fun.

Problem is, most of ours are badly designed. And moreover, it's pretty obviously a distraction from the disaster that's happening *in* those uniforms.

LOVE bringing Columbia Blue back into the scheme. No more royal/navy blue; its not Tech.

The "Lech/Tech" on the side has to go. We have one of the best logos in all of sports, the "T in the outline of Louisiana" and we are instead copying Ole Miss and Houston?

Why not put up a handful of designs for the fan base to weigh in on, which would also generate much needed engagement?

We agree on that. An alternate should be compared to a standard though and we have lost ours.

If every week is an alternate, then there is no alternate.

Exactly. A throwback is understandable. It means something. The alternate says, "We need something new...doesn't have to align with the history of the program...look what our gen z peeps came up with.

Did they have a poster contest at the local elementary schools and this is the winning entry?

I guess the next transition will be University of Louisiana at Ruston

La Jech sound like “Logic” when pronounced. It’s a subtle shift towards finally abandoning Lady Techsters and also Bulldogs as our mascot. Eventually we will be known as the Fighting Spocks.
