It’s a no brainer to think what the money would be well spent on .

Louisiana Tech will receive $800K to play Washington State next season and it appears the Tulsa away game will be postponed mutually to a later date.

Really like the opportunistic move to pick up this game last minute.

Only $800K? If Crummy is still "coaching" we should get more than that, being a 101% guaranteed win for them.

(Put coaching in quotes because I haven't seen any coaching from Crummy.)

That doesn't seem worth it to break up our stated preference of FCS home/G6 home/G6 away/P4 away.

If you're doing two money games in a season, why not make some real money off it? I know WSU isn't exactly Alabama, but we're hunting wins these days. And @Tulsa (which we still have to do anyway) is an easier win than @WSU.

I wonder if Tulsa wanted to postpone? Be interesting to see what they do to replace us for this game. If it's a money game elsewhere it could be that both of us had a chance to make a buck and wanted to take it over the more level home-and-home return.

But it's not really amazing money. So. . .

800K tells you the poor value of Tech. This is like the house’s crash landing in the land of Oz. Hopefully Tech’s demise will do the league a favor and take out the dumb witch conference commissioner.

Wazzu is G5. So we got paid for a Road G5 game. Not sure why we didn’t go H/H like Toledo.

Tulsa must owe us something. My guess is we called them because they needed a home game and our gross will be in the 800 to 900 range.

My guess is Wazzu called both of us. Tulsa will probably get a H/H starting in Tulsa next year. Wazzu only has 8 games announced (Oregon State makes 9, date TBD). They currently have 6 Home Games (including Oregon State) and 3 road games. https://fbschedules.com/ncaa/washington-state/

Makes more sense than my guess. I was giving Tech bureaucrats way too much credit

We’re not sharp enough to understand we might have some leverage (WSU needs games). A bad sign regarding our new administration.

Jim Henderson doesn't care. He won't push the AD to actually do his job. At best Henderson might inquire about it, and after being told "this was the best Tech could do," he would shrug and forget about it.

Tech athletics is reaching new lows, and in this new fast-paced, dog-eat-dog world of college sports, if you don't muscle your way up the ladder, you get left further behind. Football program has reached all-time lows, this is the worst Tech has performed over any 5-year period, and we have the absolute worst coach in Tech history currently at the helm. We now hold the distinction of being the longest since our hoops' team has been in the Dance, since 1992, in the entire state of Louisiana. Next Dance is 2025, will mark 33 years. Baseball? Eh, doing mediocre to fairly good, I guess, but won't be surprised if we hit the skids there too. Of course, WBB is nothing but a memory, a long-ago memory. Schools, like UTSA, who have less than 10% of our history have leapfrogged us to a better conference, and there are others, and will be more others to come too.

Only a very strong, Tech guy, as president and a strong, connected, talented AD can save this sinking ship. And we ain't got either one of those.

Yeah, a couple to few more years and it won’t matter. To me the worst thing is that even as a Tech fan if I was the decision maker of another conference I wouldn’t want Jech. As an institution Jech brings nothing to higher level competition and facilities don’t matter when there aren’t bodies in the seats. You’re right, we’ll see if baseball can hang on despite Burroughs’ mismanagement. 2025 sets up as the year when that team might very well hit the skids. Jech will be Jech.

With the disintegration of the old PAC12, LA Tech officials should have been camped out in the offices of Wazzu and Oregon St anyway. Those are the two schools that were left behind and were going to need games.
