Can our football program ever be restored?
If our player didn't target and knockout UTEP's QB, we likely wouldn't have won.
Even then, we still almost lost to someone named Pickles.
I don’t understand why anyone would go sit in the stands to support this head coach. People in attendance are unbelievably enough endorsing Crumbie continuing to be the coach. If the stands were completely empty except of course for the players’ families Crumbie would be finished.

Last year, the Tech defensive player stomping the UTEP's players head while he was on the ground. This year, the egregious targeting of UTEP's QB by #21 Zach Zimos...
Tech is developing into a dirty, target happy program. This is not representative of the first class university that my grandfather, uncles, aunts, myself, been a part of.
Cumbie needs to fired this week, or at the very least be told by the AD, even the President, one more targeting this year, and you are immediately FIRED.
We must demand better..
Jim Henderson was the very first one to hug (did he also kiss?) Crummy as the seconds ticked off. Our prez is very much satisfied with the state of affairs in Tech Football. Told ya.
With some exceptions: Holiday, the two Fields, Kolbe and Jacob, Tru Edwards, and some others on both sides of the ball, there is not much to keep out of this bunch. The whole coaching staff should be fired...last week! Yes, fire the whole bunch now! Heck, I will volunteer to serve as a coach until the end of the year when Tech can hire a REAL coaching staff.
I'll say this...if you're gonna get ejected for targeting, then gawd damn it, make it worth it! Zimos did! I'm VERY old school, I think hits like that should be legal...and heralded. That's REAL MAN football! But, it's against the rules and such plays hurt the team. There is no discipline on this team, and that points directly at the lack of coaching. Tipton, the "dead ball, personal foul" guy is gone, but he was just a symptom, the cause is the worst coaching staff in Tech history and one of the worst in the nation now.
Fortunately for what is left of Tech Football's future, Crummy will have another crushing, losing season. He might get a fourth win with lousy Kennesaw State still to play, but 4-8 is the best he can hope for. I have come to despise that guy. He's a bad joke. Reminds me of a "surfer dude" high on pot and not caring about what's going on around him.
That game was like having to watch 3 1/2 hours of Lawrence Welk at your grandparents house...
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
On another note - I think Bullock has a chance to be a pretty decent QB if he can survive our fat, slow, unathletic line
The Buck experiment needs to be over - he is not a FG kicker
Much like my putting, he pushes everything to the right
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
I kept laughing every time the commentators last night said these defenses are top notch etc. (don't get me wrong, I do think both teams' strengths for what it's worth are on the defensive side of the ball). That being said those were two of the absolute sh*tt*est offenses I have seen on the field at the same time in a long time. The lines were slow, play calling was bad, some bad throws, some easily caught balls dropped etc. Hard not to look good on defense.
Our defense has performed well (yeah, relatively well) all year. The offense has sucked since day one, with the one anomaly being the MTSU game. The biggest problem is our horrible OL. Bunch of fat boys. Truthfully, with some exceptions, our players are simply not Division I FBS quality. Some of them could find success in FCS football, and some better suited for DII or DIII. And the whole coaching staff is in over their heads. Again, more FCS level. This Tech team would be better served in the SLC and even then, I doubt we would win the conference but should win 8 or 9 games. Nicholls is 3-4, with their wins over two SWACers and the winless NSU Demons. Nicholls lost to Incarnate Word 55-10!
NC State is 4-4, Tulsa is 2-5 with their only wins over us and those same winless NSU Demons. FIU is 2-6 and NMSU 2-5, and so too is MTSU. So far, the seven teams we have played are a combined 15-29.
O-line has been bad towards end of Skips era (coach Guge couldn't fix it) and the entirety of Cumbies career. I agree that we recruit some unathletic guys up front. They are big, but slow physically and mentally. Their reaction time and awareness is awful. Many times they will not finish the play and just stop.
Regarding our run game, it's atrocious. Our guys just block whoever is in front of them. We have no scheme of trying to move players and creating running lanes within the A or B gaps. Usually what we see is a RB having no where to run, it's just a clump of bodies at the line. The RB just goes up and try to push for 1-2 yards behind some fat lineman.
