    Re: President Trump

Just remember that Zelenskyy was campaigning for the Democrats in PA on taxpayer dollars two months before the election. Is it any wonder why the media and Democrats are upset about that Oval office meeting? I wonder how much US aid to Ukraine went to the Harris Victory fund. Doge needs to figure this out.

These are the same Democrats that are supporting Hamas because they despise Netanyahu so much.

So now we know what Putin wants (or what he beat his chest and said he wants) and we know Zelenskyy wants the US military to wipe Russia from the face of the Earth. This is where negotiations start. No doubt Putin is a murderous, underhanded POS and cannot be trusted, but based on his success in Ukraine, his stated military exploits ring rather hollow. Russia can hardly be compared to pre WW2 Germany.

Or we can just leave it to the Europeans to handle it and Ukraine will be owned by Russia in short order.

    Re: President Trump

I am not being taken by anyone. I just see what is happening and what all the "primaries" are saying.

Caveat: I know Trump plays poker and things are not always what they may seem. But, I also know Trump has bumbled with some of his public commentary and they had serious repercussions. I again point to the Kurds wiped out by the Turks when Trump just made an off-the-cuff remark he was pulling all US troops out of Syria. For Trump it was a "meaningless" comment expressing his frustrations with what was going on at that time in Syria. For Erdogan it was a ticket to attack and wipe out the Kurds in northern Syria. The VERY BEST that can be said about that embarrassing episode in the Oval Office is that it was another Trump temper tantrum, and he really doesn't mean what he said. The WORST that can be said is he actually does mean it.

Yes, DawgyNWindow, Putin does not represent any kind of threat to any other nation right now, sans some nuclear strikes which would amount to terrorist attacks, like 9/11 on steroids. Hundreds of thousands, maybe millions, of people would die including millions of Russians and such a stupid, evil act will NOT bring a victory to Putin/Russia...only death and destruction. Sticking strictly with conventional weapons Putin is toast. Putin is hoping that Trump throws him a lifeline. And, based on what he is saying and doing, it appears Trump is prepared to do just that.

Instead, now is the time to turn up the heat. Tougher, enforced!!! sanctions and giving Ukraine all the weapons they need to finish the job on the ground. Yes, that might take several more years, although I agree with other pundits who say the war can be over, Putin beaten, by this fall. And the TIMELINE is another key factor in all of this. Again, Putin is not on the same page as Trump. Trump is seeking a quick resolution so he can "hang a trophy on his wall" as one pundit referred to it. Many sources, and I agree, are saying Trump wants to "put this one to bed," claim a huge success, and move on to other items on his agenda. Putin is not playing that game. To Putin if he is still fighting the war in Ukraine 5 years, 10 years from now, well, he will be.

We Americans too often measure events based on our timeline(s). Do you remember the peace talks between the US and North Vietnam held in Paris, what, 1972 or so? Our folks got hotel rooms thinking the matter would be settled in less than a week. Vietnam's representatives bought condos, prepared to negotiate for months or even years. Trump thinks he needs a hotel room to deal with Putin, and Xi too. They will buy condos like the Vietnamese did. And this is Trump's HUGE flaw. He was saying "if elected, the war will be over in one day." It's been 30+ days since he was POTUS again. What happened?

Neither Putin nor Xi can be trusted. They will sign any deal Trump wants because they have no intention of keeping it.

Unlike Biden, we WILL protect our interests in other countries. The minerals and 100s of billions in aid were our interests. As I pointed out to you a couple of weeks ago, Z didn’t want to make any concessions.

The whole world...except Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, and a few others...hates Trump and by extension hates the US. Good job there. Trump wants isolation for the US, well! he's almost there.

AG Pam Bondi was just on Levine. I really like her, and she is doing a great job. All those unelected judges and all those scumbag bureaucrats are violating the law fighting her, fighting DOGE, etc. Problem is everything Bondi, and Musk, and Patel, and the others gain, Trump throws away by acting childish on live TV. Trump has picked a strong team; it is time they place him in the Biden basement and not let him speak publicly.

That said, as I am nothing but fair and strive not to be a hypocrite (which is why I criticize Trump when he deserves it, and praise him when he deserves that), I find it very interesting that this has happened. President Z went to London and met with numerous European and other allies' leaders to hash out a plan to address the Putin problem. After two days of meetings, with more to come, the report is Ukraine, UK, and France are preparing to propose a peace plan to end the war in Ukraine. Propose a plan to Putin? One would think so, right. But, nope, they will propose their peace plan to Trump.

    Repeat that a few times...

Present their plan for Ukraine...to Trump! Why not deal directly with Putin?

    It's pretty obvious.

The first thing the Europeans did after the Oval Office meeting was to express their undying devotion, passion and love for Zelenskyy (no wonder he thought he could come here and steamroll the WH). They stated over and over they were "on his side" and behind him all the way.

Now that they've showed their hands, what's the chance Putin even starts a dialogue with them? Maybe Putin should suggest that North Korea or Belarus prepare a peace plan and present it to Zelenskyy and Putin.

The Europeans took themselves out of the negotiating game about an hour after Trump solidified his position.

Yes, I do admire and support the average Ukrainian, especially their gallant soldiers who for three years have stood toe-to-toe against the "2nd" army on the planet and fought them to a standstill (with a few minor wins recently). These men, these soldiers, are true heroes. We admire and adore "our greatest generation." We marvel at the young men who stormed the beaches on D-Day...and we should, they were great heroes. So, yes, I unapologetically stand in spirit with the Ukrainian soldiers.

But beyond my admiration and support for Ukraine is the knowledge of what Putin truly is. What I cannot fathom is how anyone with a speck of brain matter can defend Putin. Or even want to look the other way while he murders innocent people and wants to murder more in other countries. Try this scenario...

You are walking down a street with a couple of other men, and you come across two thugs, with knives, about to viciously attack a woman and three children, little kids. Now, you can say, "ain't none of my business" and keep walking. Or...you can do the right thing and intervene. Even if that woman may not be a model citizen. Maybe she is on welfare! Maybe she has been guilty of shoplifting from Walmart on occasion. Maybe she sleeps around a little. Not exactly someone who attends the church you do. Those two thugs, after they rape and murder that woman and those little kids, plan to do it again, on the next street.

Yeah, you'll probably say, this isn't the same thing. But I think it is in principle. Putin is a murdering thug who plans to keep on killing. Your passion for Putin is taking away your ability to reason.

The only three sovereign countries on earth are the US, China, and Russia. Europe can beat their chests and pretend to be big boys all they want but at the end of the day they have to come running to Daddy America.

Did you mean when you used "sovereign" countries that can fend for themselves? First, any nation is "sovereign" when it has a recognizable border (ahem... ), its own government, and is generally accepted to be an independent nation. Just about every country on Earth fits that definition.

But, if you mean capable of "self-determination" then you have to add India for sure, and I think also Turkey, Australia, and Japan. India's military is much, much, much bigger and stronger than Russia's, and was even before 2022. Now, it is 100X more powerful. Plus, India is the largest country on Earth in population, recently passing China. Turkey has a large military, currently bigger than Russia's, and has a strong economy. Australia and Japan? well, depending on how much leniency you afford them, they too can be considered "self-sufficient." I might throw in Germany too.

    Pals again???

Report just out that Trump and Z "have made up," and the minerals' deal will be done. Know what? If I were Trump, I would say the price has gone up to $550 billion. There's a 10% late fee.

    Re: President Trump

Trump likes to call peoples bluff and because of the hand the U.S. usually has he will win a lot of hands like that. I just hope the ones he loses aren't catastrophic. The media keeps screaming about the tariffs, but Apple, Pfizer, and several other companies have already stated they plan to move hundreds of millions worth or more of manufacturing and logistics back to the U.S. to avoid the cost increases. Ultimately that's what he is shooting for. More jobs etc. here, less dependence on foreign goods, in theory means stronger U.S. economy and weaker foreign economies.

We will just have to see how it plays out.

    Re: President Trump

Doug Ford, the Premier of Ontario, is on CNBC saying he is willing to completely eliminate ALL tariffs on US goods coming into Ontario in exchange for no US tariffs. Well, as Joe Kerney pointed out, for decades and decades Canada, including Ontario, has been clobbering the US with 200%+ tariffs on many products. Now that Trump has announced a 25% tariff on Canadian goods Canada is screaming. And only now is Canada, including Ontario, willing to come to the table to eliminate all tariffs between the two countries. Hypocrites!

That said, fine, I agree that the US and Canada should enjoy very friendly relations including trade.

The list has grown to 70 countries requesting a meeting with Trump to negotiate new trade-tariff deals. Bam!

A left leaning "think tank" published a report that Trump has improved the Social Security trust fund by ONLY $7 billion...so far. Improving it at all is a win but give Trump time and we'll see even more improvement to the SSA fund and others. Bam!

All you whiny ass libtards need to go sit in the corner, suck your thumb, and be grateful we have a real POTUS again!
