Yes, hosting Lindenwood (4 yr private school from St Charles Mo) who beat Tulsa and Tarleton St (Texas) to get here. They are runner-up in the Ohio Valley Conference with a 23-10 overall record, 16-4 in conference. Leaving Haughton around 4 for supper in Ruston and the game. Interesting to play again new foe.

Techsters play Linnwood at 7:30 tonight in Ruston. I assume that it will be on ESPN+.

OOps. It is Lindenwood. Nobody seems to care though. It appears that the Tech athletic hasn't even bothered to promote the game. If they have, it hasn't found its way to BBB.

Obviously much better in the 2nd half. Very impressed with Lindenwood, well-coached. In fact, that is some of the best coaching I have seen in the TAC in a long, long time. Even if it was for the visitor.

It's March, so it's all about win and advance. On to the next game!

    Go Techsters.

The players, our girls, looked a whole lot better in the 2nd half. I did not see any coaching change, like tactics, but perhaps Brooke scolded them at the half. We had 11 turnovers in the 1st half and 6 in the 2nd half. Mostly we shot the ball better and Avery had 5 blocked-shots in the 3rd quarter. And, Lindenwood's legs were gone in the 2nd half. This was their third straight road game in about a week and they had been jumping between hotels for 5-straight nights. We came out smoking in the 2nd half and they were simply exhausted.

But a good 20-minutes (we outscored them 41-27) does not a good team make. Too much of the same ole, same ole. Same stupid mistakes and "bonehead" decisions being made. Missed chippy shots, missed layups, dumb passes at times. Stupid fouls too. Have to be smarter. Not sure when this bunch will learn the very simple things they have control of, but if they are ever going to reach a higher level of success, each and every player needs to learn the simple lessons. I still give Brooke credit of being a good coach, so it must drive her absolutely nuts to watch the same mistakes being made even after 34 games played now. Youth is NOT an excuse. They have played 34 Division I games.

I will watch some of the Abilene Christian-Illinois State game tonight just to get a feel for our next opponent.

    Go Techsters! Keep it rolling!

Agreed. I had fun last night at the game - glad I drove over. Loved that the crowd got into it in the 3rd - First game since moving back to La. A couple of observations on the frosh

    #23 is a baller.
    #15 is undersized but battles
#18 is RAW but has some serious potential once she goes to the gym - especially "Leg day" (so thin) and develops a Baby Hook/Free throw line shot unlike...
#25 who may be my favorite - she's got some size/strength and some "Dawg" in her.

Look forward to seeing them continue to develop

One question: Has the mid range jumper disappeared completely from college basketball? I remember watching people like Pam Gant and Angela Lawson who could kill from 12-15 Feet.

One last thing: When I was in the Hoop Troop we didn't need no stinkin' DJ to fill the timeout space (Sacrilege, I tell you... SACRILEGE!)

Brooke made some big changes in our defense for the second half. The spacing was very different. Most of what they needed was to cut down on turnovers (our biggest problem this year). Also, without our starting PG, it made sense to free up Paris in the second half and not make her just concentrate on distribution. To dblackman - my favorite player is Aaron! That freshman is going to be unbelievably good. She has just played half a year and has come on strong.

Lindenwood was good, from the beginning obviously very well-coached. They had 5 in double figures with an almost all sophomore team. This is only their 3rd year in Division 1. They won only 7 games last year, 2 the year before that. Hats off to Lindenwood, a worthy and challenging opponent.

I love how our Techsters stayed on the court an exceptionally long time after the game, chatting with fans, hugs, photos, enjoying the atmosphere, the energy, the WIN. It was special. Freshman Bradley, Marshall, Airey, Aaron were beaming stayed the longest. It will be great to see them 3 more years

The Hoop Troop was always the best pep band in the land. Haven’t paid as much attention to them recently. Maybe someone has hamstrung them
