Trump has ordered the US Treasury to stop minting pennies. This is a good thing. The last batch will be minted in early 2026. It costs nearly 4 cents to produce a penny, with a face value of 1 cent. They will not be recalled so will remain legal tender and states will be allowed to determine how to handle the transition as it pertains to sales tax, etc.
Trump is only the second POTUS, in my lifetime, to eliminate needless, wasteful spending. The other one was Bush I. Yes, the senior George Bush who eliminated the helium reserve and the "tea tasters" department.
First, a caveat, having studied Donald Trump as a politician these past 10 years or so, and having researched more about him from his past, I have to acknowledge his ability to play poker. He has a proven track record of not always saying what he truly thinks and what he actually plans to do. And, YES, as a politician he has been remarkably refreshing of "promises made, promises kept." That much is true. But, he has also kept an ace up his sleeve, at times, and only played it at the absolutely most critical time. All that said, I am stepping back and watching and waiting to see how he handles Putin now.
On the surface it appears Trump is pulling a Pontious Pilate and washing his hands of the Ukraine-Russia war. There is every indication that is so. He just authorized the GOP Senate leaders, Thune and Graham, to craft a new sanctions package aimed at Russia. Thune said they are looking at a 500% tariff on Russian goods, not just those directly imported into the US, which is a very small amount anyway. But a 500% tariff aimed at any nation that imports Russian goods...and that will include China which is the single largest importer of Putin's oil. Trump indicated he would probably sign such a tariff package into law. And this also why he just delayed his latest tariff threat against the EU back to July 9th. He wants to give Thune and Graham time to craft a tariff plan, which will include Europe since Europe continues to trade with Putin, especially buying his O&G.
If all of this proves to be true, then I hope Trump will stop talking about Putin, his good buddy, and the whole Ukraine-Russia war. When asked he can simply reply, "I've turned this over to the Senate, ask them."
The new FBI, DOJ, and DOGE Team are rooting out corruption. Yesterday a USAID director and three CEOs plead guilty to $550 million fraud seeking a better deal for their punishment. We will see a parade of corrupt bureaucraps coming forward seeking deals.

I was remiss in not posting about Trump's diplomatic success in the India-Pakistan dispute. A high-ranking official in the Pakistani government is nominating Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize because of his efforts there.
Yes, obummer's fake Nobel Peace Prize has forever tainted that award, kind of like the stupid Hypesman Trophy which rarely, if ever, goes to the best college football player. Still, Trump has earned his and in fact, should get several of 'em.
Trump...[shaking my head in frustration] speaking to a session at the NATO summit. He talks too much, says dumb things and for no reason. He rambles on, repeating things he has already said several times. "Our big beautiful B-2 bombers...no other nation has bombers like these, never before in history has there been such beautiful bombers."
Then he attacked the "fake news" pointing to the CNN reporter, "CNN is reporting our bunker busters didn't work." Then, "The world has never seen such bombs as these."
During the press conference, some of the international reporters are gushing over Trump. The CNN bimbo is seething.
Reporters kept coming back to the Iranian nuclear site, "how do you know the site has been totally destroyed?" Then Trump turned it over to Hegseth and he clobbered the fake news morons.
The enriched uranium material (called "dust") is very heavy, you don't just pick it up and carry it to trucks very easily. That truck convoy sitting at the site days before the attack might have been able to carry some of it off, but how much? Reports are Iran has back-up centrifuges somewhere, maybe. All official sources, US, Israel, and other usually reliable sources are all saying Iran's nuclear program is dead, dead, dead. Yes, they can rebuild it someday just as they built this program, but it will take starting from scratch.
One YouTuber, who is usually spot on, speculates that the "dust" and a bank of centrifuges are still in that mountain, possibly usable. But Iran will have to dig through hundreds of feet of rock and dirt and busted concrete to get to it. Our spy satellites can monitor the sites and see if Iran has brought heavy equipment to the sites. Easy peasy.
Trump also called out Federal Reserve chairman Powell calling him "low IQ, stupid."
Right now, Powell is testifying in front of a Senate committee, and he is getting grilled by both Repubs and dems. Powell should resign immediately. He has lost the confidence from all sides.

Anytime a screwed-up libtard judge issues some illegal injunction trying to stop a Trump order, the lamestream media gleefully chants "Another legal blow to Trump," or some such nonsensical headline. No...it's a blow (however temporary) to America and Americans. Trump isn't doing any of this for himself.
Now...as it pertains to Putin and Ukraine. Trump keeps saying he is "disappointed" or "not happy" with Putin. No sane person is "happy" with Putin. Trump needs to watch a YouTube video put out by Jake Broe. It's about 30 minutes and does a great job of capturing the history of Russia/Soviet Union/Putin going back to when all that crap started there in 1914.
Jake Broe is mostly a delusional moron. What!? Yet I just recommended something he did? Yes, because I am able to compartmentalize people, things, events. Just because Jake Broe is mostly a TDS-suffering idiot, his 30-minute video nails the true history of Russia. And most importantly it accurately details who Putin is and what he wants. Trump should watch it.
Greg Terry is another American...BTW both Terry and Broe are US military veterans...who suffers from a very bad case of TDS. No matter what happens, no matter what anyone says as it even remotely might pertain to Ukraine, he twists it into "it's Trump's fault."
Broe and Terry are HUGE supporters of Ukraine, conducting fund-raisers to buy equipment for Ukraine. Their most recent project, just completed, was buying 5 Vampire Drones and sending them to the 100th Special Brigade, a Ukran unit that specializes in technology, especially the use of drones. I commend these efforts. I also understand their passion in support of Ukraine. But, they cross the line and simply "get stupid" with their incessant attacks on Trump.
