    Other than that...perfect!
I agree. This needs to be defended in a different and greater way by the Trump admin. if they expect the MAGA crowd to even understand it, much less accept it. Allowing 600,000 Chinese nationals, or even 1, into our universities is not MAGA. The only thing I could think of was going back to his "gold card" thing...maybe this action is tied to some form of that idea. Also, about half of those (I think) were already here through the Biden administration, but this MAGA guy thinks they should ALL go back to learn in China.

Bottom line: Sell it by telling us how this makes America great again.

    Re: President Trump

A complete 180 from his first term. Trump had a great tenure in foreign policy in term 1, but this second go-round has been, thus far, a total disaster.

I know some of you either simply don't know, or don't care, about what's going on in the world, but it ain't pretty for the USA right now. Hate to say it, but Trump has done more damage to the US on the world stage in 7 months than Sleepy Joe did in 4 years. I think I know what Trump is trying to accomplish, but it's backfiring right now. Has plenty of time to turn it around, and I know Trump can, but he needs to pull out his playbook from his first term for guidance.

In the meantime, I am practically standing along on many sites defending Trump against the angst aimed at him. It's that funny matter of, I can criticize Trump (when deserved), but all those TDS sufferers are not allowed to. Another ironic thing, which I happily point out to those morons, is the whole world is admitting only Trump can solve problems on behalf of the free world. They bash the hell out of Trump while at the same time calling on him to fix this problem, that problem.

Excellent message by Trump on his Truth site. He explained why 400+ people were arrested and detained at the Hyundai plant, they were all illegals. Trump emphasized we welcome, encourage foreign investment here, build your plants, bring in skilled engineers, and hire/train Americans to work for you. DO IT ALL LEGALLY!!!

We are a nation of immigrants... LEGAL immigrants.

On the stupid side...why the f**k change the Department of Defense to "War"? Will cost $billions to change 700,000 signs and stationary alone, not to mention other expenses. And, it sends the wrong message. Chalk up one dumb move by Trump.

Supreme Court to rule on challenge of Trump's (POTUS') authority to place tariffs. This is not just about Trump, but the decision will affect future presidents too. If the SC rules tariffs fall under the authority of Congress, which would be reasonable since Congress is supposed to control the purse strings, then Congress needs to speedily pass authorization for the president to declare tariffs.

Billions in costs? Speaking of dumb…You got a source for that?

    “Defense’” was the wrong message

Article written by Rachel Dobkin of Independent News estimates $billion+. Another article published by Politico, citing real costs of previous signage changes, such as all the renaming of forts, plus other costs, estimates $billion+. Hegseth responded saying "we know how to control the costs," and based on White House estimates the cost will be $300 million.

Yes, it's the wrong message. The USA is NOT an aggressor, war-mongering nation. Putin, Xi, Islamic terrorists sponsored by the evil Iranians are all evil-doers, wanting war. That's not who we are. The US will defend....DEFEND!...our interests, ourselves, but we will not start wars. I am actually surprised Trump has initiated this. He of "no wars" and wanting to be known as the "great peacemaker." Maybe he finally realized he would never get his Nobel Peace Prize and said, "f**K it!" let's go to war instead. I guess Trump's first war will be vs. Venezuela. That's a good one to get his feet wet starting wars. Should be an easy one too. Hey, maybe he'll get the Nobel War Prize! That would piss off his pal Putin who would also want such a prize.

YES! it sends the wrong message. Undoubtably the next non-Trumpian president will simply change it back to what it should be "Department of Defense" and taxpayers can foot that bill too.

"defense" is slightly orwellian, but it's a waste of money and effort to change it at this point.

    Re: President Trump

Several TDS-suffering YouTubers are going nuts over Trump's lifting of the ban on Boeing selling spare parts to Belarus. While watching the worst of the worst of them, Jake Broe (a nut job), you could see the veins in his temple swelling. Gonna have a brain event...wait, his pea-sized brain would have to swell a 1,000X.

Here's there rub. Belarus, currently a very close ally to Putin's regime, will buy spare parts from Boeing and promptly sell them to Russia. Russia's commercial air fleet and many of their military planes have Boeing-manufactured parts and those planes have mostly been grounded due to lack of maintenance/spare parts. This was further wrecking Putin's sinking economy and causing unrest with the Russian population. The anti-Trumpers (who are also among the strongest supporters of Ukraine) are losing their minds over this. Taken at face value, I see their point.

But, Trump can never be taken strictly at face value. He is the master poker player. He recently met with Belarus dictator Lukashenko. I think (just speculation on my part) Trump is trying to woo Lukashenko/Belarus away from Putin/Russia. I don't have any secret intelligence on this, this is just my read on this. I have studied Trump from all angles for 10+ years. He is mostly transparent, he does what he says he will do. Which is exactly the point here. Trump has NOT said anything about future relations with Belarus...yet. When he keeps his intentions close to the vest that is when he is thinking "outside of the box."

I will say this, if Trump can successfully sever Belarus away from Putin/Russia that would be HUGE!!! It would be the geopolitical grand slam of the decade+.

Hah! Putin called an emergency meeting with Lukashenko. They met for over 5 hours earlier today, and now Lukashenko is back to spouting the Putin hardline message. Obviously, Putin felt threatened by the overtures Trump made to Lukashenko.
