Just throwing this out here to invite discussion. Anyone have an opinion, pro or con, on the thought of Tech pursuing Gundy?
Personally, I have never been impressed with Gundy. Should of/could of accomplished more at Oklahoma State, IMO. But, he might, maybe, inject some juice into a program like Tech. One would think, given that opportunity, that he would try to ride success at Tech to get back into a P4 gig. Sonny Dykes used Tech as a steppingstone.

Essentially, Gundy has lost the guy who financed his career and always gave him an advantage. I'm not convinced Gundy could survive at a school with a very limited athletic budget like LA Tech.
Excellent points. But now, if Gundy wants to remain in the coaching profession, he'll have to try to resurrect his career somewhere other than Okie State.
IMO, Gundy will have to find another Sugar Daddy who cares enough about his own school that he won't mind funding Gundy's career. as long as he can win games. But that will be tough to find at any school not named OSU, because OSU was what Gundy and Pickens both shared a passion for.

Yeah, I think we need to be very careful about hiring washed up retread coaches in today's game (NIL, transfer portal, conference realignment). I think the clear choice in today's game has to be hiring an up and coming guy who has something to prove with ambitious tenacity, not a washed up guy who wants to prove he's still got it.
So that's what TECH thought Cumbie was...up and coming guy...that can be dangerous too I'm afraid.
So you have given up on this Season and our Coaches already. All you do is spout negativity. You are as bad as Anti-Trump Democrats and Charlie Kirk Haters. Go support Northeast or LSU.
If I wanted to be a fan of a school that actually cared about its program and team, I'd have been gone a long time ago.

Got it all wrong. We are expecting Tech to run the table, finish the regular season 11-1 and who knows how far they'll go in the NCAA Football playoffs. Regardless Coach Cumbie and staff will be hired away by some SEC powerhouse, and we'll be searching for a new coach. I just wanted some thoughts on Gundy.

my first reaction was apprehension. I have my doubts about how motivated Gundy would be at a school he has no attechment to with far fewer resources. I also wonder if he can keep up with the changing landscape in college football. He's not a young 40 year old anymore.
Well HogDawg agrees with you on 11-1. Keep your "anger" issues and nonsensical remarks to your self, Mr. Positivity.

Our defensive coordinator is the one that is most likely to be hired away.... This defense is the best I have seen at Louisiana Tech.
