I'll try to stay focused.
Watched the Vandy/Bama game today. Vandy ran a play several times today with success and scored on it last year. It was a read option play where the QB would pull the ball from the RB, and the DE end would crash to the QB who would then shovel pass it back to the RB who would run right behind the DE. We need to add that wrinkle to our offense.

That's EXACTLY what I'm talking about when I say we should "run more misdirection and shovel passes, etc..."
Tech needs to quit running the same old hand-off run play on EVERY 1st down. It's too predictable.
They did several different variations of that same play, and it worked every single time.

I agree with that assessment. What do feel was up with our defense? Twice KS was pinned down behind their own 10 yard line. Our defense let him maintain long time consuming drives for TDs. I did not recognize our defense last time.
I got a bad feeling in the first quarter when we stopped them on a third down and our defender was flagged for a late hit. Of course it wasn't even close to a late hit, but little things can set the tone for a game early unless you have a coaching staff who can actually coach in game time situations. Missing our best defensive player didn't help things either.
I quit watching well before halftime and was not surprised when I saw the score Friday morning.
"Bye Week" = BYE to a good season.
Was this just a WTF game? If so, then 7 or 8 wins and bowl is still in the cards. Or did the bubble burst and this is reflective of the truth of this team? If the latter, there is only one "guaranteed" (I know, nothing is truly guaranteed) win left on the schedule: Sam Houston State, they are horrible. And a couple of "we can win" games.
Thursday was as bad as Ive seen us play in a long time. We basically got dismantled by a high school team in a high school stadium. With the exception of our only score, the entire team looked like they couldn’t wait for the game to be over. Not sure why that’s such a surprise since Crummy looks like a deranged lunatic wandering up and down the sidelines. Any decent coach with this schedule should win a bare minimum of 8 games, we will be extremely lucky now to win 6.
