Apparently, Russia mined the western Black Sea back in 2022 in an attempt to halt trade/commerce to and from Ukraine. According to this source the Russians used inferior chains/anchors which have rusted and have been breaking. Then currents carry the mines floating across the Black Sea. Could be these two tankers struck one of Putin's now loosed mines. However, the two tankers were about 15 miles apart following the same course and the two explosions occurred within minutes of each other. This indicates some kind of coordinated attack. Will have to wait for more news on this. Both tankers were flying the Gambia flag, but Gambia denies registering either tanker. They were both empty returning to port, after off-loading their oil in England two weeks ago. Ah hah, European nations still buying Putin's oil.
