Rattay mentioned by Houston Sports media.

Whenever I am in the truck driving, I listen to the Houston sports radio station. Of the countless hours spent talking about David Carr and who to replace him with, I finally heard Tim's name get mentioned by the radio guy this morning. I typically have short drives so I do not know if he has been mentioned in the past much around here, but at least he is on somebody's mind in the local media as a possibility.

There are so many Texan fans and UT people bitter about passing on Vince Young that much of the QB discussion ends up harping on that. Many still want Houston to draft a QB in the early rounds of 2007, and now there are quite a few who are trying to sell Kevin Kolb out of Univ. of Houston as that needed QB. But there are some who would be excited about a free agent coming in. This morning the radio guy mentioned Damon Huard and Tim Rattay. A little later on he mentioned Rattay again as a good option to come into Houston and get a shot.

I would love to see it happen, but it is only talk now as far a I'm aware. It would be nice to hear if there is real interest by the Texans in Tim or vice versa.

i heard it too. it was on sports 610 AM around 7:30 or so. i listen to that same station, as well as 790 AM, most all day as i am driving around town all day. that was the first time i heard tim'sname mentioned. but, it makes perfect sense. david carr has got to go. rattay would br a great fit & probably get more than a few texans fans excited again.

i know we all want rattay to get a shot at starting somewhere, but it looks like that might not happen...he is getting older. jamie martin is already old. i would love the next best option to be back up to brees in new orleans.

The Saints would be a good place for Tim. Payton runs a good offense for him...just keep him away from the Titans mascot.

The Saints could certainly use Tim. I would love to see him start somewhere instead though. After seeing Jamie Martin play for the Saints I would have to say we are in trouble if Brees ever gets hurt.

Brees is no better than Rattay, Brees got a chance to play and Rattay has not.

I would love for Rattay to come to Houston. I would be the first person to buy a Texans #13 jersey. Huard, Rattay, and Plummer are the free agents available. I don't want to see Plummer in Houston. I would be happy with both Huard or Rattay. Obviously, I would prefer Rattay.

I bought a TB jacket when Tim got traded so I'm a big fan...but, Tim either got on the wrong side of the TB coaches or doesn't practice well. He needs to go somewhere that he fits as the #1 backup behind a shakey starter (umhum Chicago Bears, Umhrrmmph) or somewhere that has a decent offense in place and needs cool hand Tim under center to bring it all together as in....???? Broncos, nah...Rams, maybe, Texans..uhhh, any suggestions....I'm open to anything, if I'm a GM I build my offense around Tim and Willie R. Go Doolys Dawgs

Yes! The thought of Plummer nausiates me. And knowing Kubiak has a Denver history with Jake has me worried. Carr is just a younger version of Plummer, only slightly less successful. That is a poor use of the word "successful". Jake's had his moments, but he is way too reckless.

Regardless of who is better - somehow I can't see them signing Rattay to replace Brees. I am certainly a Tech homer- but that really boggles the mind if you think that could happen.

I wonder if Coach Carmichael would like Tim with him in NO. If anyone knows Tim's abilities it would have to be Carmichael. Maybe he can convince the staff to go after him. Of course it hasn't happened in the past, but I don't know if the need was there where Pete was coaching. Is it really there now in NO.

I think Tim has a harder time winning out in NO since Brees has been so successful already this year. He has earned an extremely long leash. In Houston, the QB job should be wide open for anybody to take.

I am a Rattay fan myself, but you people are insane if you think Rattay could do a better job than Brees. Rattay should be a starter but not in New Orleans.

I'm afraid I agree 100%. Brees is DA BOMB in the Big Easy. Now if Tim just has to play 2nd fiddle somewhere than I hope it's for the Saints as their backup hasn't looked good at all. I love Tim but not over Brees this year.

Please do not say "you people" when speaking of suckupdog! He is not one of us - he is a flamer. As you can see all of the other posts agree that Brees should be the starter in NO.

Suckup never said that the Saints should get Tim and get rid of DB. He may be disagreeable, but he's no flamer.

Brees is no better than Rattay, Brees got a chance to play and Rattay has not.

    What he said.

Actually, we don't know for sure, but I've had several conversations this year with Tech/Saints fans who have said that they are similar in many ways. Until Tim gets behind a decent OLine we will never know for sure.
