I find it hard to believe there is that much discrepancy, though. Last year (in mop-up duty, I realize) Mosley was very accurate. At this point I think working him into the lineup more might give us more of a passing threat.

I thought Florida did a good job utilizing two QBs last year, and they are reaping the benefits because Tebow was ready to pick up the reins this year. I am afraid we are putting all our eggs in a senior basket. That would be fine if he were playing well enough to make us title contenders and a good shot at a bowl game. At this point he is not. And we have not seen ANY indication so far that he is ever going to develop a deep ball. Someone asked last night: Has he even made one since "the catch" at Nebraska?

I think Dooley is smarter than that. I don't believe he is playing Champion because he is a SR. He obviously doesn't like what he has seen so far in Mosley. That being said I am sure we will see more of Mosley as the year goes on. I honestly think the answer at QB is not on our roster right now. I am not against putting Mosley in at all. I am just not optomistic it is going to change much. Probably more TD's but also many more mistakes and Int's and in the end similar results. Can't hurt to give it try though at this point.

I agree with the assessment Ross's attitude. He wants to win. In the spring game, he moved well in the pocket to setup the pass. My concern would be that we don't have the receivers for the offensive style that fits Ross best. I suspect that Ross doesn't have the arm strength of Champion or Mosley, but completing the short passes would be a major improvement.

And you are basing this on what?? Your own speculations? That's not fair to Mosely........not at all.

For the record, Zac's problem isn't the short passes--except for the fact that he broadcasts them. The main problem is that there is literally ZERO reason for an opposing defense to believe he will complete a pass more than 10 yards beyond the line of scrimmage. That makes it very, very easy to beat us.

At this point, Mosley may not be as good as Zac, but he is at least an unknown factor for opposing D's.

Yes. And this is a message board I don't have to be fair. Why are people saying Mosley will do better?? Answer: Their own speculations.

I would like to know if Scelfo, or Dooley, or anybody else could possibly teach Zac to throw the ball away if noone is open, instead of always losing 10-15 yds per sack. The offense might be a little more successful at 3rd and 3 instead of 3rd and 13!

I'm not saying he WILL do better. I am saying if we are losing because of our QB play already then we lose nothing by giving the other guys a shot.

Everytime he throws it, he throws it away.

What's so dumb about it?? He's not criticizing Rattay's skills, he's criticizing what Rattay would have to work with. There are no Troy Edwards on this team.

Perhaps by "short passes" I should have said "medium range" passes.

What is more evident to me is that Bick left this team in bad shape. We have some bad recruits who shouldn't be playing for intramurals much less in Division-1 ball. That being said the coaches called a decent game in the first half (ball control and field control) and then phoned in the second half. As Pers said in another thread we called Bick on the carpet for phoning in the second half, WE should also call Sceflo or Dooley or whoever else phoned in this game.

This game was WINNABLE, and we found a way to lose it.

Thank you. Heck, we don't even have a Delwyn Daigre on this team. We need Josh Wheeler back NOW!
