I spoke to Ed Wednesday and he stated that he was going to be loaded next season on defense because of the new signings and the returning players. That doesn't sound like a comment that someone who is leaving would make.

I talked to Ed a couple of weeks ago. After the converstation, I told my wife that I could tell Ed was not happy. I got the feeling he was only staying on because he had school-aged children.

If I had to guess, this was a mutual parting, with only the timing of the parting being the issue.

We will miss Ed. He is a true blue Tech man. I would like to keep at least a few on the staff.

Coach Jackson came on board while I played and he brought a whole new approach to the D-Line. He was easy to like, great to play for and easy to love. He was big in our FCA group and he was a great family man. He is from Mansfield but I didn't know him as he was at Tech and in the League before I got to know him. He's a true class act and he was a great man for Tech.

Well, since this seems to be holding water, I'll say what I was going to say. This doesn't come as a surprise to me, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was mutual. I was told by someone that Ed was planning on leaving anyway. In fact, I don't remember who I told it to, rabiddawg maybe, but I told someone else that this year. According to this person, Ed told them in person that he was planning on leaving. So, before we start to get all upset with Dooley, realize that this may have been a mutual parting. I'm not saying that I know this for a fact, but that I was told nearly a year ago that Ed was planning to leave anyway.

What proof are you waiting on? A photo of his cleaned out office? A different name on the door to Ed's former office? He's gone. You will not find a more dedicated person to a program.

Actually more than that it would be the right thing to do until it's official. Jackson might not want it "out there" that he was fired. At least not yet. Good grief you guys slay me sometimes!
