Update: got a job offer from the Alabama grad. I forgot to mention that I currently work for an Alabama grad as well (who was also the one who made the hiring decision for my current job). Perhaps the LOUISIANA TECH name means something to Bama folks. Will be increasing my donation to LTAC soon so that others may enjoy the same opportunities I have been given (including TechTalkLacky).
    Jordan Mills on choosing Tech:
“It’s a great experience seeing them play. It was a good atmosphere. The fans stood up the whole game and never sat down. They have a great fan base.”

Life is what you make it, and the opportunity is there for our students to have a great time at ball games, no matter how good our teams are. The opportunity is there for alumni and fans to have great tailgating experiences and a good time at the games. Then, if the attendance and support are there, it would probably follow that the teams would win more. But our alumni and fans are too willing to just jump on a bandwagon somewhere else so they can feel a part of something "big."

I wonder that, too. I especially wonder in light of a marriage relationship. Can a person who "marries" one school but still carries a flame for another school do any better with choosing their life partner? If you can't be trusted to be loyal in a relatively smaller matter like choosing the school you will support, can you be loyal to anything?

I liken this sort of thing--maintaining your bandwagon fandom of one school even after choosing another school--to dating someone, marrying another, but still keeping a photo of your ex on your desk. (Or wearing a t-shirt with your ex's name and phot on it.) Flirting around may be somewhat acceptable when you are dating, but when you enter into a committed relationship, there should be some "forsaking all others."

"I'm choosing to marry you, honey, but I'm still going to keep in touch with and support my ex. After all, she is a supermodel now, and well, you are not really all that relevant, not in a national sense anyway."

I mean, it's one thing to still kind of keep up with your old allegiances in the news. But actually sending money (either directly or indirectly through purchasing merchandise) and especially CALLING yourself a fan of another school is just pathetic.

We will be coming to visit you sometime if talk the job in Atlanta. Not that we really care about seeing you. Christy just wants to go see a Braves game.

I've always felt that Lsu is far more respected within the state than outside the state and Louisiana Tech is far more respected outside the state than it is within its borders.

With respect to LSU I think that used to be true but quite frankly they have earned respect throughout the country now because of their overall athletic performance.

Sorry. I just can't relate supporting a school over your own as the same thing as marraige infidelity.

I will definitely be leaving Tallahassee. I am leaning towards taking this job in ATL, but I am weighing it against another job offer in Houston. It is actually a really tough decision.

No it would be like telling you wife, I love you but this girl I dated in high school was so hot I really love watching her whenever possible going to visit her when ever possible. She's so much more fun that you, your not even in her league.

Texas has no state income tax, and Houston is an AWESOME city to live in. Music scene is healthy, tons of incredible places to eat, and much closer to TECH.

I didn't say infidelity. The image I have in mind (that I didn't communicate well, apparently) is of some assclown walking down the street with his wife while wearing a t-shirt with his ex-girlfriend's picture on it. Has more to do with class than fidelity.

Also, it is ultimately a matter of scale. But they both relate to loyalty and one's ability (or lack thereof) to meaningfully stand behind your commitments.
