Dang gone it. Yes it is. Heathens should never give directions with a church as a reference.

Ciceros is great. They will have to have a great muffeletta to beat Monjunis. I like their shrimp scampi.

THey are in the restaurant at the corner of trenton and alabama. several restaurants have been at that location, most recently the pizza place was there. (forgot it name)

The Hitch Barbecue used to have "minced" beef sandwiches - 4 for a $1.00. I am not sure what the was minced, probably the grease and the crumbs of beef.

Also - anyone ever eat at the Pines Hotel Resturant past the farm campus? All of the forestry and ag guys went there from what I remember.

The Chinese food place at the Lincoln (?) motel - small but wasn't that bad for a hole in the wall.

I remember going to Wil-Mart - those damn trips leaving was something that remains fuzzy.

The "Zodiac" - not eats but lots of drinks. And heated discussions of public policy.

El Pollino's Mexican in the strip mall.

I do love Johnny's Pizza but the old Pioneer Pizza buffet was great.

You must be as old as me. I lived on those 4 for a $1 sandwichs every weekend. Ate four there on Friday nite, and brought four back to the dorm for Saturday.

We never asked questions at the hitch, just knew we had enough money for a meal if you had a couple of dollars in your pocket.

The Pines was where a lot of us from south campus(Reese Hall) went to eat, on tuesdays you could get a big plate of chicken and dumplings, cornbread, and sweet tea for $1.25.

It wasn't that long ago either, just the eighties.

Okay, I realize this thread is a departure from the subject matter somewhat, but I have a two-part request. One, does anyone know of someone in the Ruston area that sells honey, and two, is it too late to get mayhaws? If not, where can you get them?

If these places have websites you can order from, so much the better!

A Southern grape. Mayhaws are in April. Now is the time for Muscadines. Another Southern grape. If anyone knows where I can find some I would love to make some more jelly this year. I made some excellent Muscadine jelly last year.

Know where I can get some muscadine wine? I'd like some of that.
