JMO but i think we would see better production from orurbackup QB's if they entered the game when there was still hope. throwing them in ther like last nit at 38-3 or two weeks ago at 27-0 makes no sense. the team has already given up, & there is no motivation from the staff or sidelines. its just a set up for further failure.

I was screaming at the TV, "put Jenkins in, Bennett sucks" then I saw why they don't put Jenkins in more than they do.

On his second pass he stared down the receiver and instead of throwing an incompletion as Bennett normally does, he threw a perfect spiral to a linebacker standing between him and the receiver.

We have major QB problems and the're just going to get worse unless Bennett learns to stand in the pocket, quit being so scared of the least little pressure and look for secondary receivers.

I never thought I would say this but I wish Zach Champion was here instead of the current collection of Div II talent we have at QB.
    Perfect spiral??????

Jenkins INT was a DEAD FLOATING DUCK to the linebacker...just like his passes in the spring game. Ross can't throw a football.

I was thinking the same thing. If we don't have a QB stop trying to use one.

    Re: QB Problems

I think Bennet is trying hard, but it obvious that he will not add two more wins to this squad. He will not cost us two wins this year, either. But unless you really believe he will get us to a bowl game (and that is a wish not backed up by evidence) then someone else should QB to get ready for next year. Playing TB this year could cost us a couple of wins next year.

We really needed him to step up, and play like a VETERAN QB.

Offense needs some morale! Let them go for it, we might see something great instead of this stilted performance.

On fox & company, they suggested putting Casey in at qb and running that kind of offense. I would say we do have the players to run that. The only thing is we only have 3-4 faster guys and they may get tired over the game. I am not sure if Casey is redshirting, but his speed would help us on rollout plays, options, and misdirections. I am not suggesting he start, like on the radio, put him in to mix things up, see if we can really stretch the field.

If Jenkins isn't the answer, then what do we have in Ensiminger and the freshman from Cal? Surely we don't have a whole corral full of bad arms!

We could have been a lot better off if our QB coach did his job. FIrst, tell Bennett to OPEN HIS EYES and Throw to OPEN receivers. And throw where they can CATCH the damn ball.

The Freshman from Cal has a good arm. I think Bennett's arm is fine. It's his accuracy I am concerned with.

We need to keep the RS on the Fresh. from Cal though.

or get one of the backups in the game when its not out of hand or reach. they will need to get into a rythem.

sending in another QB when we have no chance of catching up does no one any good.

the entire "O' has given up, & the opposing "D" has their ears pinned back & nothing to lose. the icoming replacement, at whatever position. s doomed from the get go.
DD needs to figure this out, check his ego, & give it a shot. hell, it might just work.

Ross made a bad throw, period. If you look at the film, there was a guy wide open on the other side of the field--he never even glanced that way. Instead, he knew where he was going before the ball was snapped and looked that way the entire time. EVERYBODY in the stadium knew where he was gonna throw. One play does not define a player, but his performance was on him. No excuses.
