You kidding me? They had a lot of hits. You should get the CD or download it. It's called "A-Sides"

    It has

    Jesus Christ Pose
    Outshined
    Rusty Cage
    Spoonman
The Day I tried to Live
    Black Hole Sun
    Fell on Black Days
    Pretty Noose
    Burden In My Hand
    Blow Up the Outside World

    ...and more.

They also have a few more hits not even on that CD. I think Superunkown by itself probably has 4 or 5 hits on it.

i forgot about their stuff after superunknown. i didn't like that stuff as much (what i heard on the radio and saw on mtv) and didn't realize they had so many hits after '94 (now i do, thanks to wikipedia).

also, i think it may be a bit of a stretch to call some of the early ones "hits." "a-sides" is an appropriate name. i just don't like when bands that made the charts twice have a cd titled "greatest hits." glad to see soundgarden didn't do that.

Outshined was hit. It was the first, or one of the first hit songs to come out of the Seattle scene back then. I remember I was a Senior in High school ('90) and it was getting a lot of time on MTV back then. (when MTV played lots of videos all the time, when it was good)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mML2N...eature=related Outshined I think somewhere around 1990-92ish. I think this video and song was released before the album though. Good stuff.

Geffen and Interscope put out some good stuff back then.

I forgot I liked this song too although I wouldn't call it a big hit or anything.

i said "some." i liked their early stuff, which is why i bought superunknown on parchment scroll or cassette tape or some other archaic medium which has since been lost or melted on the dashboard of my s-10.

that "outshined" video reminds me why i don't like music videos. then again, thinking of music videos from the early 90's, i can't help but think of chris isaak's "wicked games" -- i grew up on that one.

"Fopp" and "Louder than Love" are 2 great albums from the mid 80's / late 80's from Soundgarden. Matt Cameron and the boys rocked and if you like bands early records, pick those 2 up.

Bob, Superunkown is some of their LATER work. I'm only 36, I know you aren't THAT young.
