You're not ... because we don't use KC Masterpiece. Not that I don't like it -- I just can't afford to pay over $11 per gallon to use on a commercial level. When you go through an average of about 3 gallons a day, 310 days per year -- buying it adds up to a hefty amount of cash.

Jeremy, I sure wish you could duplicate your grandfather's spicy bbq sauce!! I dearly loved Mr. Dowling's version of a spicy bbq sandwich. A scatterload with cheese with Mr. Dowling's spicy sauce may very well be my favorite sandwich ever! BTW... You are doing your grandfather proud. Keep up the good work!!

The Fort Worth Stockyard District has an amazingly great Mexican restaurant if you are ever out there. It is the best I have ever had! Here is a link to the restaurant - the history of this place, which you can read about, is pretty cool too.

    Re: Ruston Eating Places

A while back someone mentioned a fish or seafood place north off Farmerville Hwy. Talked about blue hairs in there on Thursday evening making for long line. May only be open evenings and certain days. It is not the place across from Davison's truck company. It is a littler further north.

Anyone know the name of place, days and hours of service?

Correct, it is Landry's. It is open Thursday thru Saturday for supper (senior discount for folks 55 and up on Thursday) and Sunday for lunch. Guaranteed cardiovascular disease, and my absolute favorite fried shrimp ANYWHERE.

The egg is from the mayonaise and the cinnamon is from the Starbucks you had that morning. :icon_wink:

Speaking of BBQ Sauce, does anybody have a recipe they care to share with the rest of us?

You have that correct. When Cane's first hit north LA, my cousin called me and asked I had eaten there and tasted the sauce - no to both I said. He then stated they had stolen our "family receipe". Our family was mixing mayo, ketchup and worcestshire sauce to eat with fried fish in the '60's. As kids we just ate it. When we were around other families eating fish, we would mix the sauce and everyone would just stare at us. It became a standard and somewhat of a joke because our three families never saw it done anywhere else. We never added black pepper and the garlic which you can taste, but besides that - it is exactly the same. Wish we would have registered and trademarked that sauce.

Has anyone ever mix the same sauce with their family meals before Cane's?
