i'd buy one. maybe "ouisiana" and "ech" written vertically below the l and t?

But it should say "more elite" instead of "elite" (for now).

Florida voted 62% to add an amendment to the state constitution to ban gay marriage. President Elect Obama won the state with 51% of the vote. This means that at least 20% of PE Obama's supporters voted against gay marriage. For some reason, I find this very interesting. I've said on here previously that I hypothesis this means people either voted against Senator McCain rather than for PE Obama or that PE Obama got votes for his skin color. That's the background. I was discussing this with a friend of mine, who is a huge Obama supporter, and she claims the reason this occurred is because the wording on the ballot was confusing. So, obviously my immediate response was, "so, you mean, Obama supporters don't educate themselves on the issues their voting on?"

And then, I got to see a girl get pissed off.

you are assuming that everyone who voted in the presidential election also voted on the ballot initiative (or whatever they call it). could be that obama voters really didn't care that much one way or the other on that. could be they just voted for president and left. could be they just voted a straight ticket and didn't bother with the ballot initiatives.

or it could be that you are right and obama voters, in general, voted based on skin color and hype and didn't really know anything about the issues. i'm just playing devil's advocate.

The "uneducated BHO" supporters are given cheat sheets. Those are printed up by churches for the most part. Churches opposed the amendment being discussed.

    A few comments on dogs:

    1. We need a new word for small dogs. If you aren't big enough to live outdoors, then you shouldn't really be a "dog." Maybe "doglet." If that sounds dismissive, it's probably because it is meant to be. If you want a hamster - just buy a stupid hamster, at least they aren't yippy.

    2. If you own a dog, and that dog lives outside (where it should), I don't mind the occasional bark. If a dog sees a cat go by, or a squirrel or just needs a quick bark I can live with that - even at night or early in the morning. But if your dog barks steadily from 3:00 am for an hour - you and your dog need a good strong kick in the ribs. Actually, you might need two kicks (still just one for the dog).

    3. As you might have gathered from the last comment, we live in a pretty dog-filled neighborhood. Almost every house on our block and behind us has a dog. Mostly I don't mind this. It is probably great for security purposes. But there is a little grass alley between my block and the back of the houses behind us. And some genius likes to walk his dog up that alley early in the morning. I guess he hasn't noticed that when he does this EVERY SINGLE YARD HE PASSES has a dog in it that starts barking at his dog and setting off all the other dogs in the other yards. Would it kill that dude to walk on the street instead of the alley? I appreciate that his dog is doing his business in the alley and not my front yard, but I'd trade the quiet for a little mess near the curb once in a while. In his defense it has been a while since he has done this that I have noticed. Maybe someone already gave him this message or he figured it out on his own.

Technically BHO opposes gay marriage, also. So voting for BHO and against gay marriage are not necessarily contradictory. Furthermore, I know gay people who are in favor of gay marriage who vote Republican because they are business owners and feel that their business interests are better represented by Republicans. It's not really possible to vote entirely consistently with one's beliefs.

Don't know if you are meaning to imply that only pro-Obama churches had cheat sheets, but I remember years ago getting conservative cheat sheets at church.

I wonder if anyone has ever been caught in that big Price is Right wheel and sustained serious injury.

I was off work yesterday for Veterans Day and watched the show. It seems like they always have someone who loses his/her balance when spinning the wheel and stumbles forward or backward. For years, I have been waiting for someone to get dragged under that wheel.

Funny thing that you guys mention "Price Is Right". I'm currently in California on a work trip. Took several personal days to see a few TV tapings in Los Angeles. One of those tapings was for Price Is Right. I showed up at CBS at 5:40am and got a front row seat to the action. No, my name wasn't called, but it was a blast just to be there and see all the background stuff.

The taping I attended is tentatively scheduled to air on 2/16/09.

Congratulations, you're the winner. My wife and I really enjoy the SingStar games on Playstation 2. It is kind of like a karaoke game (similar to Guitar Hero or Rock Band, but just with vocals). The games have about 30 songs each and you can get 80s, 90s, Pop, Rock, etc.

So I just bought her the "Legends" edition. And while Biz Markie is probably much closer to my talent level and range than Marvin Gaye or Whitney Houston, I'm questioning his status as a "legend." There are a couple of other non-legends on there, but most of them had more than one "hit" with a novelty song.

I think Biz Markie would be challenging to replicate.
