The Cake Sale. Irish pop singers raising money for something (free trade maybe?).
Good Old Fashioned Nightmare by Matt and Kim
Can't decide if I like it or not though. All I know is Alt Nation won't stop playing the damn thing.
TI -What you know.
The Beach Boys - God Only Knows
Awesome!
I once read an interview with Paul McCartney in which he said that God Only Knows was his favorite song ever, and that he & John would play it again and again. I'm sure you've heard that the Pet Sounds album was a huge influence in the writing and recording of Sgt. Pepper, as both bands tried to outdo each other in a sort of friendly rivalry.
In my opinion, Pet Sounds stands out as one of the best musical works of the 20th Century.
(But does that make it the most deserving?) :icon_wink:
andy mckee -- drifting.
slightly more interesting than elevator music if you're only listening, but it's fun to watch.
Beach Boys - Fell Flows
WWDog

Flagship of the University of Louisiana System
ESPN radio
The Raveonettes - LUST
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
Paul Simon - Graceland
If you don't like this record, you don't like music.
Great record. I concur.
I've been listening to Solomon Burke some lately. The cd I have is a kind of "come-back" album that came out a few years ago where a bunch of big name song-writers like Brian Wilson, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Elvis Costello, and Tom Waits wrote songs for him. It's pretty good, but I have to admit that the other day I noticed that despite all their cred, sometimes (not always) rich old white guys writing "soul music" kind of sounds like rich old white guys writing "soul music." Not necessarily bad, but not exactly "soul" either. It just sounds like a soulful guy singing a carefully crafted pop song - again, not a bad thing.

Stand out track is a collaboration with the Blind Boys of Alabama that has been used on a bunch of tv soundtracks I think (House? Maybe in The Wire?).

If you've ever read the book version of High Fidelity, then you will have heard of him. In the book, the couple's song is Got to Get You Off My Mind.
Probably his best known song is Cry to Me.
