Sorry about my ealier assessment. I jumped the gun in assuming he was an attitude or conduct problem. Too bad about his grades. Maybe he can get them back up and rejoin the team in the future.
You are not dismissed for grades, you are suspended for the period....see Jay Dudley. There were other issues that built up.
I would imagine grades may have been an ongoing problem, that coupled with Lack of Academic Progress probably doomed him. Since he is an upperclassman he should be able to graduate in no more than two years. Dooley isn't going to take a chance on losing scholarships because of this guy, the first time he did it they probably switched him to a GS degree program which really shouldn't give him a an excuse for not making progress

What are you talking about? Ranger didn't stutter. Players are suspended for a term, not dismissed from the team, for grades. Grades may not have helped, but that is not why he's off the team.
The guy obviously was a knucklehead and had been removed from the team because of it. One more space for a some one who cares.
I agree.... and to boot.... we are not utilizing all of our scholarships now as is... so until that happens... we are never really "wasting" a scholarship....
