Rahm Emanuel, under fire for making an "f-ing retarded" comment during a strategy session months ago, met Wednesday at the White House with Special Olympics head Tim Shriver and other advocates for the disabled to try to quell the controversy.
The White House chief of staff issued the invitation last week after Shriver wrote him to protest the derogatory comment, reportedly made by Emanuel in reference to some liberal activists.

I can't think of a republican that's been in the Dems sights for something like this (could have just forgotten or never paid attention, like now)... So how is it a double standard?

Can you imagine the Bush White House Chief of Staff saying this and not being fired that week by W himself not to mention the liberal press and politico uproar. It's actually out of the news cycle already.

I consider the liberal media and libs/dems as the same. So until the liberal media is clammering for Rahm Emanuel to resign, as they would have for a Bush office holder, I see it as a double standard.
