Thank God the government is stealing money from you to fund the social security system. My wish is that the government would take away the cap so that you would feel more of that warm and fuzzy feeling you get supporting all the old folks in this great country of ours.

Don't know where dhuss got the idea that I was a financial advisor, never have been. I've been a capitalist for the last 20 years.

Well, I don't remember ever saying that. Check my profile. Says capitalist. Probably dhuss got confused when I said at some point that I traded stocks.

There is a huge difference between being a capitalist and being a financial advisor.:icon_wink:

But talking about social security, for married people it is a good return on the money. For single folks, nope.

Well, I do remember saying that the government can print money. For example, if the Chinese ever wanted cash for their bonds the government could supply it.

My memory is fine. Not selective at all. I remember going to see O.C. Smith perform in a Century City, CA hotel lounge in the Spring of '68. He sang "Little Green Apples" and other songs and he was GREAT!

Won't be so hot when there are 2 working people per retiree. That is the problem with all pyramid schemes. Eventually they get too top heavy.

Just a temporary problem due to the baby boomers. Longer term, the system will be ok.

Big difference between a pyramid scheme and social security. A pyramid scheme is a scam whereas social security is an insurance program.
