How boring is your life? Was here no more grass to watch grow or paint to watch dry?Originally Posted by CChandler;923301[B
Assuming that Tech ends up in a more regional conference, what is the Monroe Fish Wrap going to chide Tech about? Also, assuming they don't have the travel angle, imagine how hard Ms. Soignier going to hit the "rivalry" angle.
Me at the Tech/LSU game this past season.

The Dixie Youth rules are screwy, but THE worst rule is the rule that forces a runner to slide at home when there is a play at the plate. Whether or not there is a play at the plate is a judgement call by the ump. Umps are VERY inconsistant with this call.
I'm sure it was put iin place in the name of safety, but if they really wanted to be safe, they'd move the mound back and get rid of the hot bats.
Jordan Mills on choosing Tech:
“It’s a great experience seeing them play. It was a good atmosphere. The fans stood up the whole game and never sat down. They have a great fan base.”
As 3B coach, I warned an 8YO 3Bman about hogging third base when he didn't have the ball during a play.
He found out the next pitch when Cayden came around from 2nd going to home and blew him over.
Umpire then reminded him not to hog third base when he's not in the play.:icon_wink:

I had my thumb broke from a kid sliding into me at home during the scrimmage game back when i played Dixie youth. the sad part was that the umpire called the kid safe...how can a base runner be safe when he cleats your glove that contains the ball and the glove is in front of the plate? I held the ball and everything...oh well.
crazy thing is that i caught the rest of the season because there was no one else on the team that could do it. I had a custom cast made so i could still fit my hand into a mitt.
Really hard to know when the play is coming home all the time. For example. Runner on third. Ground ball to the shortstop. The runner is headed home and cannot see behind him to tell if the throw is coming or not. A good cateher will act like the play isn't coming until the last sec. trying to deke the runner into a false sense of security.
