that is the Southwest cheerleaders (i'm sorry to say)...but Southwest has several campuses...sports (and cheerleaders) are all done at the downtown campus...i went to the "macon cove" campus...it's in East Memphis
i chose southwest because it's the same classes...they all transfer...and it's half as much.
except not...Memphis has filled up the Liberty Bowl for Memphis v. Louisville...we were both CUSA teams at the time...Memphis had 45,000 the next week for Memphis v. Southern Miss.
that was 2004...we averaged over 42,000 for the season...not 1 SEC home game...but we did beat Mississippi on the road.
check you facts...
and Memphis fans out number sec fans 2 to 1...just ask the Commercial Appeal.
but again, we're already here (CUSA) we don't have to prove squat.
Did a little research

If you want to look at the numbers yourself.
Let's do a blind comparison.
Team A - They average 20,000 per game in football (that's a nice round number, isn't it?). 2,400 in men's basketball.
They have a $15,966,000 athletic budget.
They have 11,000 students in a town of 20,000.
They receiveed $1,463,000 in conference revenue distribution.
They spent $2,554,000 on travel.
Team B - They averaged 20,506 in football. 3,600 in men's basketball.
They have a $19,441,000 budget
They have 25,000 students in a town of 100,000.
They received $982,000 in conference revenue distribution.
They spent $1,740,000 on team travel.
What's funny, is that the difference between Team A (Tech) and Team B (Middle Tennessee) in terms of conference distribution is $481,000. The difference in team travel is $814,000.
So playing in the WAC cost you $333,000.
But WAIT! There's more.
In royalties, advertising, and sponsorships, Tech brought in $485,000.
MT brought in $724,000.
That means that Middle Tennessee is either a) a more popular brand or b) is more likely to bring a message to a wider audience of people. (Isn't that kind of what this whole realignment thing is about.?)
People wanted numbers. There they are.
I am not delusional enough to think that the current manifestation of the WAC is worse than the Sun Belt. It's superior.
Who looks better?
We've got an athletic budget 22 percent bigger, a better schedule, and we've been on national TV a dozen times (counting this season) in the last four years in a conference with the worst TV deal imaginable. Meanwhile, Tech's bragging about six games on ESPN3.com
But... why is Middle Tennessee in such better shape than Tech? One word: Administration. We have one of the best ADs in the country. Yours? Not so much.
That's why we're getting into C-USA ahead of you. That's why it grates on fans of a couple of Sun Belt schools when you act like you're superior just because you play in a better conference.
You were in a better position and pissed it away.
And there's the reaction I was expecting.
Have fun in the WAC. If it's still around next week.
You were expecting me to call out a post you defended with information that only pertained to it in the sense that it was about the same subject??? Minus the name calling, everything was in line compared to the trolling and subjective posts about Tech's facilities you've fabricated.
Have fun the the worst conference in FBS after the WAC dissolves and Tech is in CUSA.
lmao...if your school is so good (sorry, which belt school is that again?), then why is it still in the most prestigious football conference in the world?
and it should be a shame that your school only got couple hundred of people more for a football game when you are in a 5 times more populated town - I guess your brand is not that good then.
Don't try to throw out number when you have no idea how to interpret it.
Oh another thing, we paid 400k more a year to have team like Boise, Hawaii, Fresno, or Nevada came to play in Ruston - what do you get with that 400k? ULOL??? lmao
Why did we only average 500 more a game? Probably because Tech obviously fudged the hell out of the numbers. ( you had exactly 100,000 people show up this year?)
Why has Tech already been passed up by CUSA twice?
If we were playing such crappy teams, then why did more people show up to see ULUpick'em and F_U than came to Tech to see Boise, Hawaii and Nevada?
Why are your facilities so bad?
Why is your athletic budget nearly $4 million less than ours, even though you get $500,000 more from your conference?
Why are we on TV more than you?
Why can our AD put together a decent home schedule, yet you played five home games last year and are opening up this year with a neutral-site game against Grambling?
Why do you suck in baseball?
Why can't you win your conference in anything other than women's track and women's basketball?
Why does MT finish light year's ahead of Tech in the Director's Cup standings?
Why did we beat you by four touchdowns the last time MT and Tech played?
You just lost your argument right there - and your credibility for any argument (like you have any) . Have you learned not to use any assumption when trying to argue with others?
By the way, we had 100,003 people showed up last year and for some people like you and gomemphistigers, we rounded our average down to just 20,000/game - got it?![]()
