HI Y'ALL,, THANK YOU FOR LETTING AN OLD MAN BACK IN. I WAS ONE OF YOUR EARLY FANS..THIS IS MY 70TH YEAR AS I WAS MANAGER AND ASST TRAINER IN 1936 FOR THE ATHLETIC DEPT, ALL SPORTS INCLUDING BOXING, WHERE I WAS THE SECOND FOR ALL MATCHES.., IN FACT,EDDY WOJECKI THE TRAINER WAS REFEREE OF BOXING AT NEVILLE AND OFFERED TO PAY MY TUITION ($30) AND HELP WITH OTHER COST.. I LIVED IN THE VARSITY HOUSE WITH 47 OTHER GUYS, FOUR TO A ROOM, 2 DOUBLE DECK BUNKS AND A SMALL TABLE AND CHAIR. WHEN Y'ALL FIRST STARTED, I PRINTED MOST OF YOUR POST FOR DR JARRELL, AS WE HAD LUNCH DAILY AT THE LOTUS CLUB (STILL DO).. ANYWAY BITCHING WAS RAMPANT IN THOSE DAYS.. BUT THE NAVY IN WWll SAID "A BITCHING SHIP IS A HAPPY SHIP", WHEN THEY STOP, LOOK OUT..ANYWAY YOU ARE DOING AN EXCELLENT JOB. JUST PRAY WE KEEP DAN RENAU AND I THINK BRUCE IS GOING TO BE AN EXCELLENT AD.

Mr. Selimlo, it's good to see you here. 70 years is a long time to be a Tech fan so I salute you!

We must be the happiest bunch around because we can definitely find something to bitch about each and every day.

Keep believing. You've made me smile this morning!

interesting that Tech ii was a boston bulldog. wonder if we should consider some variety in bulldog type in the future since there is some precedence and we never established an official breeder or bloodline for our mascots...

Why would you say add variety instead of officially establishing a breeder or bloodline? Jw.

Re: Louisiana Tech -- Bulldogs since 1900

I assume that the Boston Bulldog they're referring to what is known today as a Boston Terrier. My uncle had one when I was a kid that stayed in the house most of the time.He had some hogs in a pin in the woods behind his house and the hogs got out one day through a hole under the fence. I went to try to get the hogs back in the pin and the dog saw me and followed me to the pin. That dog rounded both of those hogs up with me standing there watching and drove both of them back through the hole they got out through. It was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen an untrained dog do. He was just a house dog and had no training at all. http://www.akc.org/breeds/boston_terrier/
