Obama Care Found Constitutional - We live in a state of tyranny

Obamacare has been upheld by a Michigan Federal District Court. The original opinion is here.

Our government is clearly ruling against the will of the people. The Federalist Papers make it clear that there may be times that two of the three branches will try to usurp the power of the people, but rarely will all three. In that case, we have to throw the bastards out. This is actual language from the opinion:
The plaintiffs have not opted out of the health care services market because, as living, breathing beings, who do not oppose medical services on religious grounds, they cannot opt out of this market. As inseparable and integral members of the health care services market, plaintiffs have made a choice regarding the method of payment for the services they expect to receive.
Of course, there are appeals, but the language in the opinion that says that merely because we have bodies means that we must engage in interstate commerce and therefore our bodies are subject to federal control means we are now slaves of the federal government. A government this arrogant must go.

Here is another attempt of the federal government to control over our lives. They make me wear a seatbelt. They make me wear a motor cycle helmet. They are about to make me buy health insurance. Young adults cannot drink until they are 21. We have to go to school. All of this is total invasion of our freedom to do with our lives as we choose.

Now the Federal Government wants to ban ALL cell phone calls while driving. This, despite studies that show banning texting doesn’t reduce accidents, it increases them.

Wake up America. The government thinks they know more about how we should live our lives than we do. They want to control every aspect of our lives. I call that slavery. We cannot continue to let the political elite tell us how to live our lives.

I know, I'm on my soap box again, but that health care ruling has me seeing red ... as in communism.

Yep, and hopefully, we'll start making their lives miserable in three weeks.

They just banned soft drinks from Food Stamp recipients. If you have Food Stamps, you cannot use them to buy a Coke, Pepsi, etc...

I wonder if when they control our Health Care they will also ban soft drinks for all of us?

I wish they would ban everything except the necessary food items from food stamp recipients. If you are too lazy to get a job, you shouldn't be able to buy prime rib on my dime.

While I don't approve of the food stamp program at all, I don't believe we should regulate their conduct. If we are going to give them the damned money, let the buy what they want. Regulating conduct just doesn't work.

When we banned alcohol, people kept drinking. All we succeeded in doing was to create a strong mafia and crime gangs. Now, we are banning drugs, and we get drug cartels. I was in criminal court in Union Parish yesterday. The courtroom was jam packed. Almost all of it was drug related. We aren't going to stop people from taking drugs. We cannot regulate conduct. I doesn't work.

Trust me, the food stamp people are going to get their soft drinks, and they are going to use our money to buy them. We can't stop it.

Like Sooner said, the issue is about government control. If you are living on their dime, then they have the right to tell you what you can and cannot eat or drink. We will all be on the government dime when they finally get universal health care through. And I believe that's been the plan all along. They HATE fast food chains and this way, they will be able to destory them. Along with other idustries. Are they right... yeah, fast food and soft drinks are bad for you. But is that the American way or the Soviet way?

The US government has no total control over its people only carrots & sticks to influence people. Check out Coca-Cola's investment & revenues in China. They're doing fine.

This statement contradicts itself. Plus it entirely misses the point. This court decision says that the government has the RIGHT TO CONTROL even if they are not currently using it to the fullest extent possible.

People with food stamps will just do what this man did in Ellsworth:

"A concerned citizen called police Sept. 23 after seeing a man dumping new bottles of water on the ground near a local store with a goal of returning the bottles to get money to buy cigarettes."

"Officer Rick Roberts spoke with the man, who advised he had bought the water with his food stamps and was dumping the water out so he could recycle the bottles to get cigarette money."

We need to ban food stamps.

I knew we could agree on something. I have no problem with families who are temporarily desperate, but entitlements, etc. rather than workfare, etc. are scuttling the ship.

    Maybe just the opposite.

Did you hear Pelosi say that for every $1.00 spent in food stamps, $1.79 is put back into the economy?!

If we just put everyone on food stamps, the government would create about 4 Trillion extra dollars for the economy!
