And still it's only a rumor at this point guys. The number of my fellow tech alumni that are negative nancy's/debbie downer's/henny penny's still amaze me. It's truly embarrassing! granted practically all of us would all rather play this game in ruston. but if it's in shreveport then grab a set, buy as many tickets as you can for the game and cheer like you've never cheered before. I do want school to be in session ...i will say that for sure due to student body attendance! We can beat these guys and this is the year to do it! Shreveport used to be, and feel, like a major home game and it can and will be again. Now get your act together and pretend like you've "been there and done that" before because universities do this type of thing every year. And again, it's only a rumor at this point.

War Memorial - it's okay, the city has done work to the stadium/area to keep the Hogs there. New pressbox, park, beautification.
Cowboys Stadium - it's a palace
I-Bowl - it's a dump. Shreveport does zero work to the upkeep of the area and stadium.

I understand the "ghetto" complaint. But I bet if schools as big as Arkansas or Oregon signed a long term deal to play in Indy stadium they would have the funds to "clean up" stuff.
But come on! This is apples to oranges. We aren't Ark and Shreveport ain't Dallas.

You know full well this "rumor" is fact and only lacks a press release. Our AD has been leaking it for weeks now. Having this thing written up in one of the local rags won't make it any truer than it is now.

Playing in Shreveport is an embarassment. Granted not as big as the Grambling deal but at some point we need host a big game in Ruston and sell JAS out. We have an opportunity here and a lot of people seem ok with wasting it.

Louisiana Tech played its first football game in Shreveport in 1916. That tradition needs to continue.

You also don't schedule OOC games as a "measuring stick." That's the dumbest reason I've ever heard to schedule a game.

Wrong. That is exactly why there are OOC games. OOC games are a better measure for your team than conference. Other than this past year exception, national titles and other significant games/awards aren't decided against conference mates. If you can't win OOC, you can't win anything worth while. Yeah, conference championships are great, but there is a ceiling there. What good is winning the conference if you can't do anything else?



If you want to be at the top, you can't stay at the bottom. Right now, Tech is at the bottom and continually shoots itself in the foot in wanting to climb to the top. This deal continues that trend. Tech can't measure itself, though, without games against schools like TAMU. But, Tech already had that with Illinois and Virginia.
