I just thought about something, since the 4K+ students at LSUS would now be Tech students, they would be eligible to get in Tech home games for free. If only 25% take advantage of that it is a 1K boost in attendance even if they don't bring anyone with them. Actual numbers may not play out that way but is nice to speculate.

Doubtful that many non traditional students will make their way over, but you are right, some might. Regardless, in a few years, those students will be supporting Tech as "their" school - especially new students coming in, IF we do this right.

I would be fine with it. Just change their colors to Red/Blue and mascot to Bulldogs/Techsters. Penn State does it like that.

Under what scenario? Are you saying that even with a full merger athletics would not go away, or that a full merger is unlikely and other scenarios would not do away with athletics?

Talk about having a bunch of "do not call" lists when dealing with S/BC merchants for ticket sales and advertising revenue.

I don't believe that. You might end up being right for the short term due to their conference $$$ commitments or something. But all in all they should go away unless they do go to the Texas type system such as they did with UTD, UTSA, West Texas A&M, Texas A&M at Commerce etc...

I don't believe that. You might end up being right for the short term due to their conference $$$ commitments or something. But all in all they should go away unless they do go to the Texas type system such as they did with UTD, UTSA, West Texas A&M, Texas A&M at Commerce etc...

There would be no comfort in knowing they would go the "UTSA" route.

We already use "Tech-Barksdale". I image it will be called "Tech - Shreveport/Bossier" or "Louisiana Tech - Shreveport/Bossier"
