My $0.02. I thought the odds were that either NIU or Kent State might jump to #16 were pretty good. it seemed to me that the openings at HoD and Liberty were long shots at best at that point.

No WAC stroke. Not in CUSA yet.

Take the Independence Bowl. ULM sits at home because I seriously doubt that they/ESPN would want a Tech/ULM match-up. No TV's.

The real point, LFR, is not who we woulda/shoulda/coulda played! The real point is not even the school's reputation or the gatekeepers' (as you called them) opinions! The real point is that those boys did what was asked of them and they won enough ball games to go to a bowl. Because Bruce was too dumb or too cautious or too something to get duped by the Liberty Bowl folks, those boys don't get anything! They are the point, not which bowl or which team we hate! If the so called 'gatekeepers' you speak of will come out and be real men to that group of young men and tell them what you are saying, then I will give them a thumb's up for their integrity. But since they won't do that, how do you or anyone else explain it to a 20 year old that he is sitting home because his AD was too stupid to get something in writing???? Life lesson???? That's sad! Even you have to admit that!

They plan to comment on claims made by Van De Velde, #WAC commish soon. Story on website when they do Van De Velde: Louisiana Tech originally had a written agreement with Liberty Bowl saying bowl would select Bulldogs if Iowa St not avail Then Saturday, @IndyBowl gives Van De Velde ultimatum. He says he has to call Liberty to get commitment or "I’m going to go to the I-Bowl.’ Van De Velde: "That’s when the Liberty Bowl said to me, ‘Oh no, we’re going to take you regardless.’ And then, on Sunday, they changed.’"
