Smooth move. Any tie-in news? I assume theyre still begging for SEC scraps.
According to Roy Lang's tweets, "schools like Tech" will not be playing in the bowl under Advocare's watch.
He also quoted someone saying the bowl will be a top ten bowl. Have these people ever actually been to the I bowl?
Guess they won't being inviting Conference Champions and top 25 teams!
I am certainly hoping that is correct- we want to go to good bowls each year.
Let's hope that he's right. LA Tech has outgrown the Advocare Bowl.
Who in their right mind is going to give them the the thousands of $ to make that happen??? Maybe they are looking for some ocean front property in Arizona too.
Watch out for a bill to go before the State Legislature sometime this year to address the money issue (i.e. dedicated tax for the bowl). I think it was mentioned in a previous edition of the Shreveport Times.
In the end they might move up the pecking order a tad bit. But in an Arms Race against San Antonio, Tampa, Jacksonville, Orlando, El Paso etc. Shreveport ultimately doesn't have the wallet to compete as a top 10 bowl.
It is like watching a slow death and they are trying for taxes to give them hospice.
I can't believe ANYBODY, much less many of our own fans respect this guy. As my 16 year old daughter would say, "Somebody needs to hit him in the face!"
Yeah, that's probably gonna happen.
