rooster-your opinions are yours, but lord have mercy do you have a clue? do you realize that when the lady techsters were on top of the pile that they were referred to as the lady dykesters (sp?)? let me give you an example. when going through corporate training in 2001, i was chatting with another trainee about basketball. he played with a small college and his fiance was an assistant coach for a big 10 (12) school and she played college hoops and we called her to discuss her opinion on women's college hoops. she stated that tech was known to have lesbians on the basketball team and that the techsters were known as the lady dykesters as opposed to lady techsters...what does it matter? it doesn't. hopefully, we can hire the best coach available. whether it be he or she. rather than have 13 pages of discussion of sexual orientation; how about have multiple pages of the best choice to lead our ladies back to being the premier college basketball program? i watched kim mulkey, jennifer lawrence, pam kelly, jennifer lawrence, etc break old dominion (and remember the skit of "old domination" university). watched them do battle with big ole bad tennesse and usc. it's time to stop the bickering and tit-for-tat of spiritual beliefs and get down to business--finding the best coach to lead us back!

Man, we have gotten way off track here...It all started AGAIN, with me saying that I hope our next head coach is not gay...AGAIN, I hope that is not the case. I do hope that our coach is NOT gay. That is easy to understand. After being called an uneducated idiot, a bigot, talking garbage, driving a bus one way to hell, etc... I was then just stating why I believe what I believe. Besides some of you "if it feels good, do it", my backing is The Bible. So yes, it all goes back to Biblical truth for me. I think you handful of people that my comment bothered, you would be surprised how many people have the same beliefs that I do...Are we all driving our own bus straight to hell b/c we don't want a lesbian as a coach? We are all sinners...gay, straight, thieves, fornicators, slanders, murderers, etc...

I have been around BBB a while now, believe me, the door won't even be opened for my exit by a few people who gets their feelings hurt b/c of my beliefs. This is the only place to find accurate information before the public hears it, sometimes the public doesn't even hear it. 99% of us are die hard Tech fans, besides the occasional flamer(don't get offended, this word means in this sentence means a fan from another message board), BBB is made up of all Tech die hards. It really amazes me that a couple of you are wound up b/c I said that. I don't get offended when someone says something about an alcoholic on here or drinking or beer commercials and my grandfather was a true alcoholic....where does it stop? Do you believe that all the kids in a league in a baseball should get a trophy, even if they don't finish first? This is kind of stretching it, but its OK to tell the 2nd-10th place teams they didn't get a trophy b/c they weren't the best. Bottom line - Don't get offended so easy... My hunch is the few that spoke out are gay, has a family member that is gay, or something of that sort... Again, after all of this, I hope our next coach is not gay.

I cannot believe that I am going here! Rooster, have you ever taken anything that was not yours (even as a child)? Taken home a pen from work that you did not pay for, been given the wrong change (too much) from a restaurant...etc? I'm sure most of us have done something in the past that we are not proud of. You know what the literal biblical punishment is for these acts...right? Are you willing to cut off the hand of the 8 year old with sticky hands. Gouge out the eyes of the 14 yr old that stares at your daughter or stone to death others'. Glass houses for many of us my friend! And I am not in any mood to purposely break the window or walls of "my house. Even in a small town like Ruston...why can we not all get along?

While some hope the next coach isn't gay and some hope he or she isn't straight. There are some that hope he or she isn't black, latino, Indian or white.

Does this discussion have anything to do with Spoon? Calling each other names and trying to change opinions on either side will never happen. This is crazy! The bottom line is we have a chance to move on with our program. Hopefully we can return to at least being competitive! I doubt we will have the national prominance we once had, but I would be happy if we did.

All we can reasonably expect is to compete for conference championships on a regular basis and a sweet 16 run every now and then - the money is too stacked in the wbb game to the gang of 5 schools

I really think we will try to hire and up and comer that wants to make a name for themselves, I doubt they find a "dynasty" builder

Look at ODU - that's about the best we can expect

The days of the program being the second highest funded program on campus is over or even funded equally to basketball are over

I do agree with you. Hopefully they can make it exciting every few years, but I don't expect anything like the Barmore days. I know Maddawg is going to be so disappointed!

There were less than 10 "Techster" fans in El Paso and on numerous occasions there were less than 300 fans in Ruston this season -

Basically most of the hard core Techster fans have died off or given up hope
