It is difficult for me to understand your logic about them setting the program back. There is no place to go but up. That said, I had nothing to do with her being gone- I'd love to have that kind of money or pull, but sadly I have neither. I do agree with DFM on the fans- there were oh so few of them. TECH was not putting a product out there that would attract more than a few that were hanging on from prior years.

I have 2 things to say concerning the current direction of the thread.

1. You should love and respect your neighbor no matter their choices or lifestyle. That is Jesus.
2. You cannot sit idle and watch as others act, speak, or live in a way that you know contradicts the way God had instructed those who believe. Also Jesus.

Jesus was not tolerant. He was loving and compassionate, but wasn't okay with people who lived in opposition to his teaching. Saying that a person who does not accept any lifestyle outside of theirs is not being "Christian" is completely inaccurate.

So according to you, Jesus wasn't "ok" with people who lived in opposition to his teaching. OK, but Jesus never taught about homosexuality. Fact. He taught about a lot of other stuff, but apparently the topic of homosexuality (which is almost an obsession today for evangelicals) did not warrant the "son of God" spending time or energy discussing. What he DID say, however, is to love your neighbor as yourself and do unto others as you would have others do unto you. Fact. Christians say they are known by their Christ-like love. Calling someone "queer" (in my sin-ier than thou point of view) just doesn't sound as "Christian" as the rest of the crap being spewed. Rooster doesn't want a gay coach. He may get his wish. He may not. But when you selectively chose this topic (homosexuality) and use the bible to back it up, you gotta take what the rest of the bible has to say as well. It seems like selective Christianity to me. Then again, I'm going to hell according to him. So what do I know.

Man, we have gotten way off track here...It all started AGAIN, with me saying that I hope our next head coach is not gay...AGAIN, I hope that is not the case. I do hope that our coach is NOT gay. That is easy to understand. After being called an uneducated idiot, a bigot, talking garbage, driving a bus one way to hell, etc... I was then just stating why I believe what I believe. Besides some of you "if it feels good, do it", my backing is The Bible. So yes, it all goes back to Biblical truth for me. I think you handful of people that my comment bothered, you would be surprised how many people have the same beliefs that I do...Are we all driving our own bus straight to hell b/c we don't want a lesbian as a coach? We are all sinners...gay, straight, thieves, fornicators, slanders, murderers, etc...

I have been around BBB a while now, believe me, the door won't even be opened for my exit by a few people who gets their feelings hurt b/c of my beliefs. This is the only place to find accurate information before the public hears it, sometimes the public doesn't even hear it. 99% of us are die hard Tech fans, besides the occasional flamer(don't get offended, this word means in this sentence means a fan from another message board), BBB is made up of all Tech die hards. It really amazes me that a couple of you are wound up b/c I said that. I don't get offended when someone says something about an alcoholic on here or drinking or beer commercials and my grandfather was a true alcoholic....where does it stop? Do you believe that all the kids in a league in a baseball should get a trophy, even if they don't finish first? This is kind of stretching it, but its OK to tell the 2nd-10th place teams they didn't get a trophy b/c they weren't the best. Bottom line - Don't get offended so easy... My hunch is the few that spoke out are gay, has a family member that is gay, or something of that sort... Again, after all of this, I hope our next coach is not gay.

If we're all "sinners" then who should be the next coach? Does being a sinner disqualify you? Is a straight sinner better than a gay sinner?

Are you hoping for someone less "sinful" to take the job? Are you hoping Jesus will take the job? Carrie Underwood already has him taking the wheel, so his hands are likely full, you know with that and world peace.

No one is going to convince anyone of anything here; everyone believes what they will believe, and no amount of typing will change that. The last two home games COMBINED had an announced attendance of 1,386. And that includes tickets sold that were not used.

The coach who was fired set attendance back to pre-1978 levels.

It has to be made clear to them that when it comes to the question of how to build a just and happy society, they will not be invited to the conversation. Judging by how many came out to critisize him and how many supported him in this thread, Rooster will now have a better idea just what kind of a role he can play in this project. And the answer is, basically none.

Who has preached intolerance and hate? If I want to play, I can assure you, no invitation will be needed from you... Again, b/c I believe that it is better for Tech to have a women's head coach that is not gay, I hate? Get a grip with yourself... why are you so offended by that? Are you gay?

"Given up hope" might be a little strong. But I know I've gone from being a hard core Techster fan to a fair weather / bandwagon type. (If I'm honest, I probably would never have followed wbb had I not gone to Tech when I did.)

It makes me sad it's come to this. But we had a good run, and I'll remember the good times. Should they ever come around again, I'll be there in Columbia blue.
