The problem with that story is what happens if he then bolts after next season? I don't think this has anything to do with Mike's integrity. He was courted, he listened, he deliberated and after deciding it wasn't the best fit, he stayed for at least one more year.

Offer was $1.3 million per year and they wanted to not give him the extra year to compensate for the $600k buy-out they would owe TECH...

So basically only 2 years guaranteed fully

He wanted more security on the back end of the contract like he had here and they would not give it to him

They tried to go cheap -

They had to come up $300k a year on Tyndall and give him another year of security to avoid more embarrassment - only about $8 million of the contract is guaranteed

If they would of come out with that to Mike White, he would be the new coach at Tenn

Exactly. The Tennessee AD got backed into a corner and --after Mike White's rejection-- HAD to "get his man", regardless of the cost. Tyndall benefited tremendously from White's rejection.

No, what you're asking someone -- Roy, Jimmy, Sean, myself and others -- to do is stake their reputation and their integrity on someone else's integrity. That's a slippery slope, if you turn out to be wrong and he bolts next year for a better job. Maybe Jimmy knows Mike personally and feels comfortable taking that stand. I know there are certain coaches that I know well enough to take that stand. There are others that I don't. I don't cover the Tech beat, and I've never interacted with Mike on a professional level. I'm simply a fan and an observer from afar. I don't know him well enough to stake my reputation on him.

With that said, I have a lot of respect for Mike and the job he's done here. However, if this were simply an issue of integrity, I think we'd have seen Mike come out publicly and make a statement about how he recently signed a contract extension and wasn't listening to other offers. The simple fact is he did listen. This deal almost​ got done. I know you may not want to hear that, but it's the truth. It has nothing to do with integrity.

Neither Roy Lang or Jimmy Watson did ANY actual reporting in those tweets. They just gave their opinions. They might as well have been here on BB&B (God forbid! HAHA!)

On the other hand, credit goes to Sean Isabella, who appears to have done some real reporting. It appears that Isabella made phone calls, spoke to T-Mac, went to see people, made MORE phone calls, etc.... THAT'S real reporting. Good job to Isabella.

Everyone likes being courted -

EVERYONE and if they say they don't they are lying

It gives your more leverage in your current position and gets your name and program out in the public eye

It's simply part of the price you have to pay if you are a successful program

And a price I'm personally willing to pay as someone deeply invested in our basketball program
