2 things I will say to that. I have honestly never met a Southern grad. So I know little to nothing about the academics of your school. Not because I have ignored you deliberately, but it has never come up. The only thing I do know is about the "Battle of the Bands" where a football scrimmage breaks out every year. Call me ignorant if you like, but the opportunity to know anything about Southern other than the city it is located in hasn't come up for me. I know several Miss St grads and know a little more about their academics and athletics.

Actually what crazy is that the numbers are there right in front everyone's face to see, but there's still people who chose to ignore them.
The doubts are starting to come across more as your fans not being accustom to big time atmosphere games or people not being attracted to ruston more then anything else.
The first link shows attendance numbers to the first SCG (swac championship game ) ever played in nrg stadium in Houston Texas. Which at that time the entire south was going through its worst record cold storm ever.

If we put numbers like that in Houston. Why the doubt that we wouldn't do it at home in Louisiana?
Makes no sense.

You know, I have always liked Southern. A lot of friends that graduated from there, but you are just hurting the reputation of your school. Be proud that you can produce the numbers on away games, but stop acting like Tech is not an FBS program that is used to a much bigger stage than an FCS team. Like I stated in this thread or another one, I wish nothing but the best for Southern after our game. We are in different divisions, so I hope you go as far as you can go in yours. Stop bashing to make your point, though - you are quickly becoming just another flamer that will go on ignore.

It wasn't meant as a bash just an honest observation, in trying to figure out why all the doubters. Because as I stated the numbers are right there for everyone one to see.
As for being classified an FBS. That doesn't automatically or necessarily make one accustomed to big time game atmosphere.
One of your poster used ULM as that example earlier, when the question was asked why hasn't Southern moved up to FBS if its fans base were so great.
There are a number of FBS programs that I can point to that we have outdrawn in attendance and viewership. It's all about numbers and support at the end of the day, and having a bigger acronym doesn't guarantee either.
Yawn. Attendanceball.

The game will be a classic. Speaking of classics...

I hope (and expect) Tech to make short work of SU on the field. It should be something like 35-10, or some such score as that. CAVEAT: Yes, I remember all too well games that should have gone that way, but didn't.
But, regardless of the outcome on the field, I know SU fans will show up and help make this a great day for college football in Ruston. Looking forward to it.
