. Carlos Henderson is the missing link — Sorry, Louisiana Tech fans, for Henderson's tease Friday. The redshirt sophomore showed how electric he could be with 115 yards and two touchdowns, along with a 57-yard kickoff return, only to suffer a concussion in the third quarter. Henderson can't catch a break. He had finger surgery in August and didn't get up to speed until several games of the season. Then when it looked like he was back in the mix, Henderson injured his hamstring. Then came an internal injury earlier this month. Now, it's a concussion. Tech will be fine the next three weeks if Henderson has to rest against bottom feeders North Texas and UTEP, but he could be the difference-maker down the stretch against Southern Miss and potentially in the C-USA title game. He's exactly what this offense has been missing most of the year.

I agree with Sean here. Henderson brings a dimension of athletic prowess that elevates our big play potential when he plays. His explosive play-potential when combined with our other weapons makes us virtually unstoppable. Man, I wish he and Dixon would've been available in Starkville! It definitely would've changed the outcome of that game.

Just watched the replay about 5 times and it's definitely targetting and a helmet to helmet hit. #19, Banks, hit Henderson on the lower left side of the helmet with the top of his helmet and you can see his neck and head pop back. It turns his head almost 90 degrees. They also show a frontal side view in a replay. Then, #10 gets in Henderson's face and is taunting him as he gets up. This is around 3:48 left in the 3rd qtr. Henderson's head never hit the ground. There definitely should have been a flag and Banks should have been thrown out.

I agree. He didn't seem to notice the other guy until the last second. It was similar to last week when Driskel took a hit that he seemed to not see coming until the last second.

I don't agree with those saying it was targeting. Maybe there was helmet to helmet contact but the defender led with his shoulder into Carlos' chest and shoulder. If it was our guy clocking a Rice player then everyone would be praising it as a clean hit.

I don't know about targeting, but it was helmet to helmet contact. I have seen targeting calls that had less contact that this hit.

It's only a "targeting" or "helmet to helmet" penalty if the receiver is "defenseless" while in the process of making the catch. Carlos had already caught the ball and was running through the defense and was not considered "defenseless" so it was a perfectly legal hit. Similar to a running back getting smoked by a linebacker after running through the line.

I disagree. Kansas State and WKU were our WTF games. We could have won both of those, but massively conservative play calling decisions offensively and defensively kept us from doing so.

The good news is, vs Rice we never attempted a FG! There was no sense of "let's get into the red zone so we can set up a FG attempt" like there clearly was earlier in the season. It appears that Louisiana Tech is finishing out 20015 the same way we did in 2014- TAKE NO PRISONERS! It is showing up on the lopsided scoreboard too.

AND....we went for it on 4th down!!!!

One of my favorite defensive players (LB Nick Thomasson) went down last night late in the game with what LOOKED like a knee injury. He had to be helped to the sidelines. Does anybody have an injury update on Nick?

How did he get a concussion without being hit in the head?

You have a lot to learn about concussions and how they are f-ing up footbal and its history.

Come to find out, blows against the skull by the brain (whether it be helmet or helmet or a helmet to chest whiplash scenario) cases damage to the parts of the brain that strikes the cranium. (junior seau, jovan belcher)

Yep, we haven't had our WTF game yet. Moo State was just a FUBAR performance. Hopefully we can escape 2015 without having one. I was watching the pregame of the Marshall/ODU game yesterday, and the head coach of ODU was saying they beat "LAH Tech" last year by slowing down the game and they hoped to do the same to Marshall. Didn't work for them this time, though.

ODU has gotten a lot of mileage out of that unexpected win over us last year. The way ODU fans talk about it on the CUSA board, you would think they had beaten Notre Dame and Alabama on the same Saturday.
