Let's not do any more 5th year QBs. Let one of our young QBs play, get some experience, and get some good games from him for several years.
Here's another.

Slack, I'm confused. That said Louisville. I could have sworn U of L was..............
Wow. He's a huge guy. And he was Terry Bridgewater's backup QB in 2013. I'll bet WKU goes after this guy hard. He's right down the road from WKU, and they lose their 8th year QB Brandon Doughty after this season. The 6-foot-5, 225-pound Will Gardner, a fourth-year junior, started seven games for U of L, including the season opener, in 2014 before suffering a season-ending ACL tear in a knee - the third time he's had that same injury since his senior year of high school. He threw for 1,669 yards and 12 touchdowns with three interceptions that year.
A part of me wants to agree with you, but the other part (the part that truly believes we don't have any good/great QB's in the lineup) thinks that we should snag another P5 QB if we have the opportunity, assuming it's a Sokol/Driskel situation. Teams like Alabama and Arkansas have huge offensive lines, so a mediocre to good QB will get the job done at places like that. I'm not say our offensive line isn't good, but I just don't think a mediocre QB will work at Tech.
If we get a young guy in there that shows promise, he'll ultimately obtain the job. These things have a way of working themselves out (cream always rises to the top). If we go with a young guy (again), fans should not have to watch in horror for 2-3 years, hoping that that he'll ultimately develop. Remember the Isham train-wreck of 2011? A.K.A. the 17 year old starter that barely got by Central Arkansas and lost every FBS game he started in? Don't get me wrong, Isham had talent, but he was no Cameron; he wasn't ready. After we switched to Cameron (mid-season) we win 7 straight and nearly knock off a good TCU team. That's more than a coincidence.
In summary, I do think that Holtz should work toward developing a young QB. However, if a good opportunity presents itself, we should not pass it by in hopes that we'll produce someone like Brandon Doughty in 4-5 years. 2-4 years in exchange for 1 potentially good year? I'll pass...
Looks like WKU picked up a smaller (6'4" 217) former Louisville QB yesterday.

Hoping we don't go the 1 year route again. It has worked out for us well, but at some point our younger guys need a shot.
If we pick up another 1 year guy I would expect Wilson and/or JMar to transfer.
This will be Holtz 4th class coming in (3.5 if you count the first year against him). His guys are in place at QB. I wouldn't expect him to pass on another Driskol, but I don't think a 5th year guy would be the automatic starter on day one like Driskol was.
I'm with MD, no shot I would pass on a guy of Driskel's talent if I had the opportunity for him to come in here. If J'Mar and Price dont like competition then they arent the guy anyway. From what I have seen in practice J'Mar is better than Price. Price seems to look like he feels entitled, and although he has a good arm he lacks in a very important area which is putting touch on the ball. J'Mar could be a true duel threat, that also helps the running game next year if he ends up being the guy.
